CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours from 22 oz bomber medium copper, aroma of floral pine resins, malted hops and caramel. Flavour is of a modest IIPA, resins and a grapefruit character come through on top of the bitterness. CurlyBill (9), Ooltewah, Tennessee, USA does not count Jun 26, 2008 Bomber poured amber with a nice head. Good hoppy aroma. Flavor starts off sweet with a nice dry bitter finish. This is a solid easy to drink beer. Butters (1623), Virginia, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bomber. Pours golden amber with small off-white head. Piney hop aroma follows through in flavor. Hop nuggets were actually floating in the beer. Cloying finish. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Jun 20, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of drewbeerme. Pours a clear amber color with a big creamy head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is resiny citrus, floral, moderately sweet, and some caramel malt. The flavor leans more toward the hoppy side of things. It opens with some citrus and a hint at sweetness, but becomes more bitter mid-palate through to the finish. Maybe a hint of pine is sneaking in as well. The malt is present, but does not stand up to the hops. Thick and chewy going down. NJJereme (262), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Jun 20, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a copper color with a light to medium head. Pretty hoppy and medium bodied. Citrus and floral flavors predominate. Hits pretty hard on the back of the palate. Pretty tasty brew. Imperial-John (154), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Jun 20, 2008 650ml bottle at Beer Bistro in Toronto. Amber with white head. Floral, mango, malty aroma. Bittersweet taste of hops, malts, and mango. Very smooth mild taste. Completely hides the alcohol. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jun 19, 2008 on draft... excellent IIPA... nice deep golden / amber color with a good white head. solid hop filled aroma... medium to full body with near sticky hop notes on the palate. piney hops are most prevalent... even over the palate and a nice bitter finish... this one is a borderline IPA and IIPA.... it is kind of caught in the middle somewhere.... a bit more hops would truly make this one stand out more. for the price, you can’t beat Lagunitas... they make some excellent beer at affordable prices. Maximus is another example of a true go to beer that will never disappoint. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2008 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of caramel, malts, hops, biscuit, resin, and a hint of alpha acid.
Poured amber in color with a medium-sized off-white head that diminished but lasted. Clear. Sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, resin, caramel, malts, and more hops. Medium body. Oily, then sticky texture. Soft carbonation. Hoppy, lightly dry finish.
