4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Bendrixian (357) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - MAY 30, 2010
pours amber almost red in colour. This is a massively expressive and well hopped brew that meets a good balance with the malts as well. some pine cones and resin with a slight caramel note in there. It delivers on the palate with an explosion of hoppy goodness, green bitter notes and full rich flavours are in balance with the malted notes as well. A fanstastic finish and one that keeps on giving hoppy bitterness well after the last drop! Makes me want to move out to the west coast!

12 oz. bottle to favorite snifter. Pour is amber orange with creamy thick head that dissipates to a film on top. Aroma is rich sweet malt with strong grapefruit and pine. Taste is spice followed by pine and grapefruit, and alittle sweetness. Palate is creamy full and chaulky. This is a very nice bottle to keep on hand in the fridge for any hop head.

Wow, this is a damn good IPA. A sniff of the glass is like taking in a evergreen forest and not fresh cut grass like lesser IPA"s. The apearance matches the aroma. Nice copper color with a pretty generous head and nice lacing on the glass. On the palate those hops just hit like a ton of bricks. Just an explosion of flavor in my mouth. My palate is more in tune with the hops, but I do get the sweetness of the malt on the backside to balance out the finish. I’d rate it higher if the aftertaste lasted longer. I’ll buy this again for sure.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Suneson (58) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Kind of a copper coloring to it with little to no head on top. Bitter flavor with some malt characteristics to it. Good balance between the malt and hops. Had a lot of very similar beers like this one in the past. Not too bad for a standard IPA.

This is my go to beer! Wonderful Pine hops upon opening and on the pour. Clear dark gold with a creamy head and lots of secondary bubbles as the head fades. Sweet caramel and burnt orange hops dominate the taste with a fairly bitter finish. Very oily and yet creamy at the same time. Very drinkable due to its 7.5 ABV. One of the best values in beer, these guys prove that they are not just about the money. Two thumbs up!

Although this beer is enjoyable it lacks the all-round greatness that I look for. When I popped the bottle top and took a whiff I set the bar too high... it smells wonderful! It pours a clean golden color without much of a head. Initially I was not a big fan.. a thick malty taste with a tangy mid and after taste was not on par for what I expected. After about a third of the bottle my tastebuds were "tuned" and enjoying the back end bitter. My only complaint at this point was the major malty rush in the initial taste...
All and all a good beer, worth trying. Lagunitas has never REALLY impressed me beyond their ability to put out solid priced beers, but @ $11 per 6-pack it seems to be creeping higher... maybe its just my local store though.
Give it a try if you like matly beers.... give it a try if you like IPA’s. but dont give it a try if you want to drink it all night... 7.5% isnt much these days but I have a feeling the "thickness" and alcohol content will creep up on most people, myself included.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 DalzAle (1336) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Bottle. Golden yellow pour, thick fruity, syrupy hops aroma and a little head. Flavor is also heavy syrup, burnt orange, plenty of sweet hops and finished a little hot. Like most other Lagunitas brews, very good (not great), but amazingly solid for the price point.

Wow....excellent hop and malt balance. Starts out bitter, middle is sweet, ends bitter. Excellent clean and dry finish, fuzzy carbonated mouthfeel. Excellent beer.
