The aroma is heavy in grapefruit and pine. Lots of botanic notes mixed in as well as some subtle sweet carmelly notes. Hops instantly bites your tongue as the brew enters the mouth with pine, grapefruit, and tons of grass as its initial flavours. The mouth feel is light and citrusy which adds to the slight sourness noticeable as the brew sits on the tongue. Some mild sweetness is barely noticeable. As the brew passes, bitterness explodes along with the pine flavours. Other flavours become a bit subdued. Surprisingly enough, the caramelly notes, even though subtle, still are pretty noticeable even with the intensification of the hops qualities. It’s pretty balanced up until the finish. The hops are pretty overwhelming. However, I actually enjoy the blast of hoppy bitterness. Aurelius (2647), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Initially a very hoppy aroma and not much else - as it warmed the malt came through with caramel and vanilla. Bright rusty orange, not much head. Really well balanced within the style. Big hops, not very sweet, crackery. Not as much mouthfeel as I was expecting, in fact a little thin. No complexity in the palate or aftertaste, but it’s pretty crisp. My bottle said "Limited Release" and it was 8.4% ABV, which was well masked. I’m appealing to the sysadmins regarding the bundling of Limited v. Unlimited Release. Market Square Liquors. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 28, 2008 50cl bottle from Carrollwood Liquors (Florida). Pours a hazy amber color with a thick, creamy white head. Smells strongly o ripe citrus and grapefruit, hints of lemon and spice. Strong citrus and grapefruit overtimes, hoppy with a slight spicey flavor. Notes of apricot and other fruits. Seems a little watery throughout and especially on the finish, but overall a nice Imperial IPA. DragonsHead (137), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA

A bit watery if that is the right way to describe it for a IIPA but the flavor was very good. Tasted very citrusy with lemons and oranges and some other sweet flavors I couldn’t quite make out. Pretty good beer would definitely drink it again, but doesn’t have anything that makes it special.
