Massive hop nose with piney and citrusy notes. Devilish hops up front with a subdued malt sweetness balancing things out. Very, very nice. glennmastrange (836), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Bottle. Light to moderate malt aromas of cookie and caramel, heavy smells of pine and grapefruit for the hops, light broth for the yeast, and currant and date in the background. Head is small and white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky orange tan. Flavor is lightly sweet and acidic to start and the long finish is lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily and the carbonation is lively. A very nicely balanced DIPA with no negative characteristics jmcguire1969 (149), Lafayette, Colorado, USA

Great piney aroma and flavor are the signature of the Lagunitas hop brews. I always tend to head for the hoppy beers but these guys got it!!! Great balance overall and I love the pine aroma and flavor. rederic (1803), montréal, Quebec, Canada

Nose was mostly hops and citrus, body followed with some more concentrated flavors and the slight notion of vanilla. Pretty enjoyable but nothing too crazy. markwise (1175), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

Small head of off-white foam that quickly dissipates. This beer has a distinct piney-citrusy aroma that tastes like leaves a bit of piting pine in my mouth at the finish. This is the best Lagunitas beer I’ve tasted to date; still kind of mellow for a double IPA. Would definitely drink again. Good stuff.
