4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Keg at Drygate. Clear amber beer with a thin head. Dry, sour fruit aroma. Flavour is crisp refreshing fruit, a slightly sour grapefruit hint, with bitter hop cutting through it perfectly to stop it being sickly. Leaves an almost too-sweet aftertaste but again, it’s just right with a certain tartness there. Tremendous beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges .Aroma has pine hops with a bit of citrus bitterness and some light grains backing. Flavor has bitter citrus up front with growing pine and resin and a sweet grain backbone.

good IPA but a bit too malty, the hops did not shine through. resin, citrus, alcohol, medium body, average carbonation, bitter

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a large frothy beige head that had excellent retention. The nose is pretty citrusy and resiny in the hops department, but there’s a rather hefty caramel malt sweetness in there as well. I’d prefer this to be a little lighter on the caramel. The flavor is really heavily sweet, even with all these hops in here. A nice resiny hoppiness that clings to the palate on the finish at least. Medium to full bodied, clingy and sticky, with soft fizzy carbonation. Not my preferred interpretation of the style.

Dark caramel, peach, orange peel, pine tree. Caramalt, dry apricot, mango, passion fruit, orange jam, minty hops, touch of alcohol, dry peppery finish. Outstanding iipa, massive complex fruity hops yet very smooth and drinkable.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a stunning amber/copper color. It has excellent lacing and the smallest bit of head retention. Tastes sweet and a bit of alcohol. Drinks very easy and doesn’t finish too hoppy, which is rare for a DIPA. A memorable beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 14C). Bottle 35 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: intense and nice hop aroma with mild notes of grapefruit with a pine and resinous character. sweet malty background provides a good support. APPEARANCE: gold ambar color and slightly hazy. medium ivory head with good retention. TASTE: balanced malty sweet flavour, with hop notes (grapefruit, pine, resin). high bitterness that lingers well beyond a semi-dry finish. PALATE: medium body with moderate carbonation. no astringency. mild alcohol warming. OVERALL: a very good example of an Imperial IPA. Recommended.
