greenhorn1 (458), Mission Viejo, California, USA Oct 21, 2007 22 oz bottle from bottletrek.com. All I can really say is, "damn good". Pours orange with a creamy head and tons of sticky lacing. Big citrus and floral aroma with a subtle maltiness. Flavor is very similiar, but very well balanced between malt and hops. Lasting bitterness, oily mouthfeel and alcohol is barely detectible. This is a awesome West Coast IIPA. Must be put in your regular rotation. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 21, 2007 liquorloft tallahassee.Very much like there single IPA, spicy hops blended on top of citrus. very nice malt backbone. nose is strong citrus hops and malt. lasting bitter finish but not as bitter as other styles. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 21, 2007 Bottle. Sweet malty aroma with no head. The taste is malty with nice sweetness and good citrus hop bitterness. Got MUCH better as it warmed. Very good brew. Thanks to whoever sent me this. jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 20, 2007 Updated: Jun 29, 2008Orange-copper with good, creamy off-white head / Pine & citrus nose / Medium body with big fruit balancing big hops, with biting hop finish / Flavors of pine, grapefruit, orange, resin, and lemon, with candied sugar finish. Dedollewaitor (3622), Odense, Denmark Oct 16, 2007 Updated: Jul 10, 2009Orange amber with a good head. Malty caramel & fine hop aroma. Flowery & piney. Very fresh & crisp. Fruity & elegant.
Rerate July 09: Very sweet malty profile. Caramel and bread. Ok hops as well but way too sweet malty. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Oct 13, 2007 Bomber: Aroma is a nice citrus hop texture, not as much as I expected from a double IPA. With a pine note lingering together makes the actual scent of this brew really well balanced in my opinion. Appearance is a light copper with a foamy white head that has some retention. Taste has got a pungent hop front. Big on hops, not much malt characteristics, with a pine note and fruity undertones, and a real earthy flavor to this brew. Palate is bitter with the hop texture coming through. Overall, It’s OK. It really did not impress or dissuade me at all. It’s kind of just OK, above average, but just OK. DIONYSIS (1), USA does not count Oct 13, 2007 Great color in the glass with nice head retention. Nose is subdued but present. Well balanced between malt and hop. Nice every day I.P.A. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Oct 11, 2007 Aroma of spiced hops. Palate is thin. Little or no head. What I like about this beer is its fairly clean, and has a solid citrus-herbal hop presence. But what I don’t like is the body is a little watery, and the finish seems off to me. Its almost a weak sweetness/bitterness that reminds me of eating an orange after brushing my teeth. I’ve noticed this is some microbrew IPAs. I would like the beer to be a little more solid, with better body, especially if its supposed to be an IIPA. But overall, I find it enjoyable and pretty tasty.
