Commercial Description:
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

Nov. 2005 - Beer poured with nice color and moderate head. Appearance and taste was of citrusy/piney hops. There were some nice maltiness there, but not really enough. Mouthfeel was kinda oily. The alcohol taste was prevalent and overly bitter. Good, but not great

Clear, firey orange body with a small white head that settles to a thin film. Minimal spotty lacing noted. The aroma shows big and buttery, toffee malts, brown sugar, and ample tangerine and pine hops. The flavor is again very malty up front. Heavily buttered toffee, biscuit, and caramel comprise the malt base. Hops of the grapefruit variety are moderately strong, but far from overpowering. Excellent balance. Mildly astringency in the long, bitter finish, but not enough to get worked up over. Substantial body makes for a medium-full mouthfeel. Slightly sticky though not overly cloying. Nice brew.

Bottle sampled. Pours a copper color with a nice white head. Nice hoppy aroma of pine, grapefruit, and sweet malts. Flavor is well balanced with caramel, citrus, grapefruit and some malt sweetness with a strong and clean finish. A very good double ipa.

On tap a Toranado SF, 24 Aug 07. Light in color without much head.Agressive hoppy aroma, Flavor was big and hoppy, citrus dominated with a little bit of sweet malt thrown in to ballence it out. Not a bad brew, but not as refined as Id like

Hazy orange color; Sweet, but not overly so; caramel notes, quite bitter, with grapefruit and orange; bitter hop finish; great balance and a nearly perfect palate. this has been my go-to beer for a few months now. K-7.5

22 ounce bottle in pint glass. Bright copper with flat head and nice lace. Fresh hop aroma with malty undertones. Nicely balanced flavor with malty start and medium bitter finish. Medium-full body, medium carbo. Very slight alcohol. A tasty if not distinctive brew. Very good.

Bottle, pours a cloudy golden color, with a thin head. Nice and hoppy, maybe a touch of light malts, and some nice cream.Hops are mostly citrus with only small amounts of pine. A good IIPA but not a great one.
