mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Aug 7, 2007 Pours a bubbly copper with a thin white head. Fruity, hoppy aroma, some grapefruit and malts. Tastes od sweet malts, cinnamon and mild hops. Not as hoppy as I’d thought, especially for a double IPA. Very bitter aftertaste, but it stood out more becuase the huge hops werent there to back it up. Definitely has a big malt presence and was slightly sweet on the palate. Needs a little more crispness. This would be a decent regular IPA, but for a double it lacks firepower. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 6, 2007 Updated: May 6, 200822oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with noticeable carbonation. Bountiful aroma of hops. Really nice smell. First taste is a feel of that carbonation, which quickly gives way to some nice hoppiness, though it doesn’t stack up to some of the best IIPAs (e.g. Ruination). It was a nice beer all the way through, but I was left hoping for a wee bit more.
SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 5, 2007 22 oz. bottle - pours clear orange with no head; aromas a malty and thick; flavors are equally malty; a decent, but not fantastic DIPA tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 4, 2007 Hazy orangish color - medium fluffy head. Aroma is sweetly hoppy with notes of citurs. Full rich flavor, malty base that is followed by a creamy finish. Hoppiness permeates thoughout. Nice Imperial IPA. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2007 Orangy in colour, a little hazy. Light orangy head. Hoppy and earthy/grassy in smell. Flavour is sweet, hoppy with a light bitter aftertaste. Simple, smooth and consistent. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Aug 3, 2007 Updated: Aug 4, 2007all the good taste and character from their ipa with an added alcohol punch. i suppose the occasion might arise for this one from time to time. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 3, 2007 22oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with a one finger white head that fades and leaves some lacing. Aroma of pine hops, citrus hops, and sweet malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium-full resiny mouthfeel with a well balanced bitterness. Not very complex but damn tasty. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 3, 2007 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a slightly hazy typically carbonated dark orange colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy and floral. The excellent mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The thick very yummy flavor contained notes of strong soft hops. A wonderful best in class brew.
