COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

22 oz. bomber, 2006 vintage. Probably the oldest IIPA I’ve had. Still has some nice PNW hop in its nose, but now almost overwhelmed by caramel malt. Cloudy caramel colored IPA body. Thin white head. Taste starts with hop note of pineapple backed by tangy orange. Relaxing alcoholic malt, thick with a hint of toffee, rum and whiskey. Warmth and hoppiness expands as I work down the bottle. Well-aged ale even starts to finish with hints of 7-up. That’s a good thing.

bomber. avg creamy/rocky off-white head into clear cooper body with minimal lacing present. aromas of strong caramel and mod citrus hops oily mouthfeel that coats. too much sweetness in flavor for me.

Ryan/Casey’s. Bright orange body with rocky tan head. And a hoppy nose I can smell from far off. Strong taste of hops, slightly bitter. Texture is quite oily. Strong bitter finish. Nice stuff. That said, I’m beginning to feel that all American beers are starting to taste the same...

Red-orange amber with a whitish short-lived head. Lots of spotty lace. orange zest and Pez,slight grass, rather refreshing aroma; just a little plain hop aroma. Sharp hoppy bitter in the middle with almost enough candy-like malt to balance this hop mini-monster. This style of all-hop IPA is well represented here, and the finish is a pleasant bitter dwindle

22oz. from Trinity Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Pours a nice amber with a red tint...no cloudiness..thin tan head, alot of lacing. Aroma is not as strong as I was expecting...Nice pine, citrus, and grass. Flavor is some pine, quite a bit of citrus and malt up front. Not real bitter at first but the bitterness hits pretty hard a few seconds after you swallow it. Really nice bitter aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel...Nice warming feeling. I really like this one...a very nice balanced IIPA.

Poured at the gulfstream beerfest. I have had this a few times, but finally I am getting around to rating it. A very nice gold color and a medium white head. The hops are big and citrus with some pine notes as well. Flavor hits hard with hops. Pretty damn bitter. I must say that there are some caramel malts present in the beer, but the hops dominate in this brew.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a bright golden color and big bright white head. Smells that great hoppy, piny scent. Flavor is surprisingly big and strong and deep. Did not know until now that this is an imperial IPA. Very huge and complex IPA flavor, so I guess it would make sense. Great bargain.

A- Large, white, frothy head that sustains; fair lacing throughout; clear body with an orange/amber hue; small, lively particles S- Nose is full of citrus hoppiness; strong grapefruit tones; subtle malt aroma; light bread smell gradually appears T- Citrus hops initially, lightly acidic; quickly dissipates and leaves a malty feel followed by a short bitter finish M- Medium body; watery texture; good carbonation D- Strong but short hoppy finish makes this quite a drinkable ale; I join with other reviewers’ doubts of this being a true DIPA, it just is a little too simple with rather underwhelming hops compared to other DIPAs
