| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2008 Sample at Barley’s Smokehouse. This beer is a hazy light amber color with a thin light beige head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing. The aroma is hoppy with some caramel malt. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with hops and spice flavors, along with some sweet malt and grapefruit underneath. The finish is fruity and hoppy with a lightly bitter aftertaste. Does not pack as much punch as I would expect in a IIPA. Slightly above average overall. skortila (2915), Bunnik, Netherlands
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Aroma is very hoppy, mainly the fruity ones, grapefruits. Orange coloured with a lasting, off-white head. Taste is a bit sweet and offcourse quite bitter. Very hoppy, mainly the fruity ones but there is pine and flower as well. Big knock-out this one. Don’t let it be your first beer of the evening. 5000 (2900), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2004 Updated: Feb 11, 2004Bottle pours an amber color with a frothy white head. Lacing is wonderful. Aroma of hops and flowers. Taste is a sweet bitterness, but not dry. Brief maltiness quickly gives way to the piney hops. Mouthfeel is adequate. Finish lasts and is quite bitter. Not overly hoppy, well balanced, finish is smooth, with some bitterness. Definately an enjoyable IIPA. Yes, very good!

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Clear copper body topped by a medium off-white head. This is a very clean IIPA. The relatively low abv is well hidden so the beer feels like an intense IPA rather than an IIPA. Grainy malts, peppery hops, low sweetness, oily body. Very hoppy with medium bitterness. Excellent, trully a maxi-must. thebeertourist (2873), Oslo, Norway
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 18, 2006 Clear amber with a solid, rocky head. Intense citrus and flowery aromas. Sweet caramel flavours, blending harmoniously with citrus and flowers, eventually ending drier. Medium bodied. A California IPA that manages to be more well-balanced and harmonious than most. after4ever (2863), Brier, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 22, 2006 Updated: Jan 4, 2008Bomber. Light copper with a raging dirty blonde head: it froths all the way to the bottom of the glass when poured from a height of a couple of inches. Maybe the best-smelling IPA this summer; rich with bitter floral hops--a real earthy snap there. Thick sweet bread dough notes underneath. Creamy body with some carb tingle but perfectly balanced. Plenty of sweet malt there, but mostly a beautifully modulated hop ride: floral and tangy on the palate, crisp and clean on the finish. Great stuff. Other than the ABV, one of the best drink-all-day beers around. UPDATE: Draft at the Parkway’s Day of IPAs. KInd of a snooze on draft, at least with this first sample today.
