the beer poured a rich copper color and i have no idea about the head or lacing (wasn’t paying attention and it was poured into the biggest chimay glass ever!) flavor is easy with hints of pine, hops and malt (which creates a nice balance). very slight citrus/bitter flavor towards the end as well. i enjoyed this more than their ipa.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Orange amber, quickly disappearing thin head and decent lacing. Citrus peel, resinous, earthy. A bitter wallop up front with even more bitterness on the wash. At 8.2abv and 72.41 I.B.U. this is some serious brew.
More great stuff from Lagunitas.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber. Pours a golden-orange-amber color with a nice white head that leaves little lacing. Aroma is citrus, and really piney hops. The flavor is of pine resin, caramel malts, and some citrus. The alcohol is still present at 70 IBU, though not too overpowering. Medium body malty mouthfeel with a nice dry finish. I would like a little more bitterness and a little less sweetness; just like Lagunitas Hop Stoopid!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 22 oz bottle. Orange-brown pour with a one inch cream-colored head. Strong citrus aroma. Thick, slightly sweet body with a bitter, acidic aftertaste. A Decent effort.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sampled from magnum bottle. Maximus pours clear copper with a dense, frothy, off-white head with sheets of lacing. A great looking beer. Its aroma is bursting with American hops, but the malts are present and accounted for as well. Flavor is nicely bitter, but a big malt presence adequately disguises the 72.41 IBUs. Caramel and peppery, piney hops dominate the flavor. Its nice, but really simple. Full-bodied, moderately-carbonated with a lingering, bitter finish. Very well made!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz. Deep golden pour with a towering head. "Smack in the face" says piney hops! A hefty caramel malt note and some grapefruit linger. Damn can you taste the hops throught this. More and more piney/citrusy hops dominate the palate. A hoplovers dream here. Slightly heavy body and maybe a "one and done" for the night beer.
