3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Red-orange amber with a whitish short-lived head. Lots of spotty lace. orange zest and Pez,slight grass, rather refreshing aroma; just a little plain hop aroma. Sharp hoppy bitter in the middle with almost enough candy-like malt to balance this hop mini-monster. This style of all-hop IPA is well represented here, and the finish is a pleasant bitter dwindle

Bottle at home, scored against my interpretation of 2004 BJCP Guidelines. Aroma: hops, floral, hint of resin. Appearance: clear, dark gold, lacking in head. Taste: very hoppy, hint of caramel? Palate: smooth, medium-high carbonation, long dry finish, seems to be lacking the warming alcohol sensation. Overall: Seems to be a great example of the style, very hoppy, light on maltiness, smooth and enjoyable.

God øl. Dejlig moderat karbo. Rund maltet smag efterfulgt af fyldig bitterhed og alkoholsødme. Ikke så tør igen. Rar øl.

Looking at this beer in the glass, you would never know it was a double IPA. Smelling it you would think it is a boring pale ale, or something. Regardless, the flavor shows the true talent behind the hops. Oh, and the mouthfeel. The mouthfeel is incredible. The mouthfeel actually changed with every sip, and is almost a roller coaster as you drink. Good name for a good DIPA from a great brewery.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A clear rosey red amber with a nice thick white head.
Strong sweet pineapple and floral notes, with strong resins on the nose.
The hops are massive, huge resins, huge tropical fruits and a great tartness dominate this beer. It's strangely heavy hitting, but at the same time not a mind blowing bitter IPA. A nicely complex IPA.
Alcohol is definately there, the malt is thick and chewy, with an candy like flavour.
The finish is both sweet and bitter, toasty sweet malt, with good hop bitterness with alcohol cut through.

From bottle at bierbistro. Dark copper with resin and citrus hops. I down graded the palate a bit because I found it a bit syrupy. However, all that malt definitely makes this an interesting beer.

22 oz bottle. Hazy orange with a big frothy, long lasting head. Scent was a bit on the weak side but wow, what flavor. Big hoppy jolt of grapefruit, orange peel, pine and freshly brewed tea. The special thing about this beer is the huge bitter finish that lasts and last. Super IPA!!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Good IPA. Pours amber with light tan head. Aroma of spruce, resin, some citrus and leaves. Slightly salty with bitter bite, but not overwhelming and smooth nonetheless. Lively carbonation, slick texture, astringent finish. This is a medium to full bodied beer that is very drinkable. Very flavorful IPA.

Lagunitas Maximus delivers a floral hop experience. The aroma boasts lively hops as does the taste in this orange-gold colored Imperial IPA. Low carbonation and round body. As a sip hits your palette you are greeted with fresh and crisp feeling that disperses into a hop festival. The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste. Somehow this beer maintains good character - it doesn’t have many other distinct flavors besides some maltiness, but at the same time, the bitter hoppiness isn’t overdone. A great beer.

This is a good IPA. An orangey colour, it pours with a good head that sticks around awhile. Nice sweet, hoppy nose, which also describes the taste. It is a well balanced IPA, though a bit on the strong side. Overall a good choice if you want to try a new IPA.
