3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a transparent golden copper with a lasting pale head with some decent lacing. The aroma is heavy in grapefruit and pine. Lots of botanic notes mixed in as well as some subtle sweet carmelly notes. Hops instantly bites your tongue as the brew enters the mouth with pine, grapefruit, and tons of grass as its initial flavours. The mouth feel is light and citrusy which adds to the slight sourness noticeable as the brew sits on the tongue. Some mild sweetness is barely noticeable. As the brew passes, bitterness explodes along with the pine flavours. Other flavours become a bit subdued. Surprisingly enough, the caramelly notes, even though subtle, still are pretty noticeable even with the intensification of the hops qualities. It’s pretty balanced up until the finish. The hops are pretty overwhelming. However, I actually enjoy the blast of hoppy bitterness.

From a 22 oz. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is full of fruity and citrus hops, some pineapple. Color is a honey golden amber with a thick head that stays. Very clear. Slightly sweet at first, but completely overtaken by the hop bitterness. More pineapple, citrus hop flavor. Finish is dry with a lingering bitterness. Light for the strength, and not overly sweet. A great Double IPA.

Very hoppy, piney, distinctive Lagunitas scent. Some malt detected, but mostly pine hops. Dark golden color with a massive amount of white foam. The taste is not a hop bomb like I was expecting. It is a bit sweet at first, with hops showing up at the end but even then they are not overwhelming. Palate is smooth; not as fizzy as many other IPA’s. At 8.2%, I don’t know if I would call it a DIPA, but it is a beer I could drink right out of the bottle on a summer day.

Loses a bit of character as it gets soapier and boozier, but still a decent drink. Good malt character and little to no aftertaste.

Pours a transluscent amber...with a nice white head that does not disappear.
Big Citrus aroma... very nice smooth flavor. Does not make one pucker, but you know it is an IPA....

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours clear golden with very little head, no lacing. Aroma is pine. First taste is sweet sugar but hops quickly take over. The finish is pine hops with little sweetness left on the lips. Not really a DIPA but good none the less.
