Commercial Description:
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

Bottle at Volo. Golden-amber colour with a small but persistant head. Aroma of rich, syrupy hops, with a woody/grassy backnote. Flavour is fresh & hoppy, with a bit of caramel sweetness, and a citric finish. Hides the alcohol very well, making it a dangerous one, especially when you’re drinking a whole bomber bottle by yourself...

Slightly hazy orange/amber colour with a medium-sized dense off-white head. Super strong hoppy aroma with the alcohol noticeable. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppyness in the taste with a slight medicinal quality. Aftertaste very hoppy and fairly alcoholic. Overall, a great IPA one to be had by everyone! I owe a great big deal of thanks to Phil (Haddon90) for bringing this 65 cL bottle back all the way from California for me to sample on my visit to Knoxville on 27-September-2003.

22oz bottle, shared by Omar. Thanks, man! Pours a bright, bold, slightly hazy orange color; light khaki head with great retention and medium-bubbled lacing; really nice looking pour. Solid amounts of citrus, earthy bitterness, and crystal malts in the aroma; kind of basic; minimal astringency. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy candy sugar, citrus / earthy bitterness (nothing astringent or rough), and just loads of crystal malts; relaxed carbonation; basic, typical Lagunitas ASA boredom. Ok and fairly drinkable, but not really worth the alcohol; doesn’t provide a fair amount of complexity. Lengthy, mildly bitter finish: candy sugar, crystal malts, and bitter citrus.

12oz bottle pours amber with a nice fluffy white head that didn’t stay long.. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, caramel malts, and some nce sweet blends of those. Flavor is nice full bodied caramel with an assault of pine and grapefruit. Finish is some caramel sweetness but mostly the bitter pine and grapefruit hops..Not bad!

RateBeer Summer (Toronto) ’02: Grapefruit/citrus nose, slightly cloudy orange body. Odd fizzy then flat palate. I love over-the-top beers, but only liked this.

A hazy copper color, pours a bit on the thick side with an off cream to tan colored head that is fairly thick and lasting. A hoppy aroma with notes of fruit and citrus, perhaps some aromas of a blooming field of some type of flower. A full mouth-feel, quite thick for an IPA, even for a strong one. This was yester-years American Barley-Wine. The hops are there, but not as up front as I was expecting. A sort of orange-nectar hop flavor. This beer is quite malty as well. Lightly sweet, which gives this beer a hop nectar type taste. This beer was not as bitter or hoppy as I was expecting. It is pretty good though. It is a bit too thick for my taste though.

Whoa, this is a good one. Sip it slowly and let it trickle down your throat for maximum enjoyment. The hops are very prevalent and satisfying. A tinge of citrus tickles the taste buds, and the malt graces the tongue in the finish. If you like this style, you’ll love this brew.

Copper Coloring with White Ring. Wet Hop, Sweet Malt Aroma. Sweet Malt Foundation...Alot of Wet Hop Flavor..Dry Hopped Aftertaste..Caramel Malt Balances Out the Brew...but Certainly a Hop Lovers Beer.
