Aug 15, 2009 I was hammered at my brother’s bachelor party the first time I tried this, so now I’m trying it again while coherent... the hop aroma is slightly subdued for the style and mixed with malts and hints of candied prunes, raisins, molasses, etc. (an interesting mix). The flavor isn’t quite as bold as I usually like from this style, but all in all it’s pretty tasty.

Nov 17, 2006 22 oz bomber shared with kdrobb2k. Pours a light orange coppery color with a nice white frosting for a head. Aroma is piney hoppy with grapefruit overtones. Flavor is piney as well with grapefruit flavor. Excellent west coast style IPA.

Feb 1, 2009 Beer trade with nearbeer. Aroma: Lovely hints of quinces and hop resin. Pleasant malt background. Flavor and palate: Very nicely balanced. Dry bitter finish. Overall impression: A very nice Imperial IPA. Thanks a lot nearbeer!

Jun 10, 2003 Earthy fruity nose. Orange color. Bitter yeasty fruity flavor with a bitter chocolate finish. Was wanting to like this more, but it was a bit one sided needed more malt for balance.

Jul 6, 2008 Bottle. Nice aroma of pine, citrus, caramel malt. Flavor keeps some strong, fruity malt, but the hops are a little less pointed in the mouth and turn to more general spiciness/bitterness. Still, not oppressively bitter, and has a particular, bitter finish that can be a blessing or a curse. Very nice.

Mar 20, 2008 750 ml bottle, RBNAG07. Amber colour. Lightly cloudy. Tall fine-laced light beige head. Oily sweet malty nose. Drying hoppy aroma with a slight medicinal aroma. Smooth texture cut by rich and sharp hops. Bitter hops nicely balanced by sweetish malts.

Sep 17, 2007 Clear amber/bronze and 3cm of dense off white foam that settles slowly to a thin layer. Aroma of resinous, piney, herbal, and lightly citrusy hops with some lightly sweet malt in the background. Flavor has clear grapefruit, adds some vegetation, floral notes, and more sweetness. Medium/full body, balanced carbonation, lightly resinous. Solid.

Aug 7, 2005 gold with lots of floaties, big foamy off white head. fruity citrus and earthy aroma with apricot and pine. flavour is sweet, toasty and caramely with tangy citrus and pine. earthy finish with lasty grapefruit. not as bitter as you’d expect.
