COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

Really flavorful ipa that isn't too bitter. Goes down really smooth. Just like the rest of lagunitas products, it is incredible ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

good IPA but a bit too malty, the hops did not shine through. resin, citrus, alcohol, medium body, average carbonation, bitter

Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a large frothy beige head that had excellent retention. The nose is pretty citrusy and resiny in the hops department, but there’s a rather hefty caramel malt sweetness in there as well. I’d prefer this to be a little lighter on the caramel. The flavor is really heavily sweet, even with all these hops in here. A nice resiny hoppiness that clings to the palate on the finish at least. Medium to full bodied, clingy and sticky, with soft fizzy carbonation. Not my preferred interpretation of the style.

Dark caramel, peach, orange peel, pine tree. Caramalt, dry apricot, mango, passion fruit, orange jam, minty hops, touch of alcohol, dry peppery finish. Outstanding iipa, massive complex fruity hops yet very smooth and drinkable.

Pours a stunning amber/copper color. It has excellent lacing and the smallest bit of head retention. Tastes sweet and a bit of alcohol. Drinks very easy and doesn’t finish too hoppy, which is rare for a DIPA. A memorable beer.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 14C). Bottle 35 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: intense and nice hop aroma with mild notes of grapefruit with a pine and resinous character. sweet malty background provides a good support. APPEARANCE: gold ambar color and slightly hazy. medium ivory head with good retention. TASTE: balanced malty sweet flavour, with hop notes (grapefruit, pine, resin). high bitterness that lingers well beyond a semi-dry finish. PALATE: medium body with moderate carbonation. no astringency. mild alcohol warming. OVERALL: a very good example of an Imperial IPA. Recommended.

Bottle. Pours a translucent, dull orange with soapy white head. Aroma is grass, hay, caramel, and some resinous hops. Taste is lightly sweet, quite bitter. Hides the alcohol well. This is and will continue to be a staple beer I keep going back to.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours clear amber, two finger off white head. decent lacing with some retention. Aroma of pine and herbs. Taste is on the sweet side balanced with earthy bitterness. Full bodied, lively carbonation, sticky mouth feel. Finishes bitter sweet with tasting notes of grass, herbs, pine, cantaloupe, caramel and alcohol. Not as good as expected but not bad.

Pours a hazy amber with a frothy average white head. Earthy aroma heavy on the hops with some citrus. Flavour wasn’t as hoppy as I expected -- bitter, spicy and a bit malty. I found I could taste the alcohol a bit too much. May have been served a little too warm.
