big nose on this.... very sweet with a side of hops. pour is brown golden with a bubbly head that retains fairly well and laces the glass. The front end on this is sweet, and the sweetness is immediately thinned out by the perfect shot of hops. medium big body and really a not too overpowering aftertaste. I could say that the commercial description makes sense because it is awfully similar to the regular IPA, but bigger. and thats why i gotta say I like it that much more because of it. Beautiful Job. Little too sweet, but easily one of my favorites. If you could find the medium of this and Stone’s Ruination, I’d be all over it.

Amber beauty with a soft quickly dissipating big bubble one-finger head. Rich hops aroma with a touch of warm brown sugar smell in there - no fuel smell despite a nice heat-rich 8+ abv. Rich hoppy flavor without a ton of IBU smack in the mouth. I’m tasting it right now next to Dogfish 90, and it’s less bitter than DF90 as well as richer in flavor. I’m overall very pleased with this double IPA as it’s got notes of pine, sugar, oak, and honey in the mouth. The finish is much smoother than most IPA’s and this beer has made my top 20 for sure.

Pretty much everything I love in an imperial ipa. Very drinkable, but not too overwhelming.

Pours a copper orange color with a 2-finger white head that sticks around until the last sip. I noticed that this beer has some floaters in it (Lagunitas doesn’t filter their beers), but that doesn’t bother me. It also has some alcohol legs, which doesn’t surprise me for an 8.2% beer.
The aroma is pine and BIG sweet citrus and pineapple. It also has a bit of resinous hop aroma in there as well.
The flavor is pine, sweet caramel maltiness with a nice hop bitterness to balance it out. I also pick up a little bit of a bready maltiness as well.
Overall, this is one of my favorite IPA’s. It’s in the top five for sure. Massive hop flavor and aroma and a big malt backbone to balance it out makes this beer one of my favorites.

Lucious, one of the better IPA’s I’ve ever tasted. My wife normally doesn’t care for IPA’s, and she loved this one.

Bottle 330ml. Masterpiece. Aromas of caramel, grass, butter, a bit of citrus, and a touch of alcohol. Taste is bitter, with balancing maltiness, and very long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Orange, with a frothy white head.

Amazing sweet hoppy aroma. Pure copper color with LOTS of sediment floating suspended in the glass. Strong, sweet hoppy flavor with a smooth and gently sweet finish. YUM!

This is the best IPA I have yet to have! The aroma is just sweet, tantalizing, goodness that embodies all the an IPA should offer, The hop presence is strong, but not too strong, and it hits the pallate like a gentle rolling cascade of goodness. I could swim in this beer.

This is a beer site, and I’m tired of talking about beer the way wine people talk about wine. Who cares how it smells, what color it is and all that jazz. Bottom Line, this beer Rocks! It is truly the gladiator of IPAs in my opinion... Maximus, Maximus, Maximus....Rose petals fall around the 6 pack, and the king...gives the thumbs up!
