COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden-amber color with a slight white head. Aroma is very present, grapefruit/citrus and hops. Flavor is a very fruity, with tart hops and some grapefruit notes. Maximus finishes with a banana flavor and a hoppy aftertaste. One of the fruitiest IPA’s I’ve had, and I mean that in a good way. This is a very complex brew, something I’d recommend without hesitation.

Bottle shared by Mart, thanks! Clear orange amber beer, white head. Nose is citric, resiny, malty sweetness, caramel notes. Flavor is citric, caramel, oranges, malt, toasty notes. Citric and resiny finish, lingering alcohol with malt. Not bad at all.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is clear, golden/light copper with trace sparkle, finger-width foamy white head with fair retention and nice sudsy lacing. Aroma is fruit, resin, citrus, pine. Taste is sweet tropical fruit with dank, bitter resin, citrus and pine at the ending. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, foamy texture, average-to-lively carbonation and mix of sweet fruity and mild bitter finish. Overall, this scores high across the board with decent complexity. Weirdly thin palate for an imperial IPA but equally weirdly it kinda works.

Quite impressionable in the glass with a new penny translucent copper appearance. The head is a dense foamy white at about three fingers. The aroma is a malt driven with hops playing the supporting role. A spicy/funky hop character with a dash of citrus but what I get most is a pineapple-like tone at the core. This pineapple and sweet bread combo prevails in the taste as well. Almost like a pineapple upside down cake as a beer. Just as marketed, it’s the IPA cranked up.

Good amount of hops. Definitely a natural citrus feel. Good malty yeast. Hops are noticeable; but, not overwhelming.

Very clear honey gold... big head that drops to sheets of lacy rings.. looks very nice. Aroma is obviously hops.. pine and candied citrus rind... toasted malts thrown into the mix. Flavor has big bitterness to balance a pretty heavy malt profile ... good medium body... hop flavors are citrus pine and Flintstone vitamins ... the Flintstones linger (Amarillos???).

Caramel, peaches, and malt aromas. Taste of maple, sugar, with a peachy hop flavor at the end. This one is missing a strong fruity side to balance the hop bitterness, though it is quite nice, and is a change from the more overpowering IPAs

8/25/16. Bottle. Not my favorite DIPA. Perhaps not a fair comparison but I drank this a night after a Wicked Weed Freak of Nature. Kind of heavy with none of the refined nose or mouth found in the WW. Solid but not a stand out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is one of my favorite IPA’s since it fits perfectly with food (especially spicy food) but just as well on its own. The fresh, fruity taste and its well balanced bitterness makes this incredibly enjoyable and relaxing beer one of my definite choices when buying beers! Try drinking with homemade burgers or spicy mexican food, such as tacos.
