At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

12-0z bottle. Poured a beautiful golden amber with a touch of cloudiness. Thick off-white head. Not billowing but persistent. Left plenty of lacing on the glass. Bold aroma carried pine and citrus. Rich malty flavor with notes of honey. Hops came on strong but the lingering maltiness balanced it well. LONG finish. The flavor lasted and lasted. Rich and sticky on the palate, too. This is an excellent and substantial brew that satisfies those that crave hoppy goodness yet want something creamy and substantial. Drinkable as far as a double goes! An excellent brew.

6-pack from the LCBO. Pours a clean amber colour with a big warm cap, great retention and creamy-foamy lacing. Grassy hop aromas with citrus over caramel malts. Sweet malty taste with lots of herbal notes. This Imperial IPA goes down nicely, but it is a little rich in the middle. Thankfully, the finish is lightly dry and helps this.

I drank this tonight and canít believe I havenít had it before. Beer is a smart simple brew, with a deep and solid malt bitll that allows for a solid well thought out hops profile. Itís a strong hop beer that is malt forward. Pleasant all the way though.

Tasted at our DIPA shootout. This beer won our shootout. Grapefruit/tropical aroma, excellent fruit additions, well-integrated bitterness, slightly sweet, syrupy mouth feel.

Pours clear orange with a big foamy off white head. Aroma has citrus fruits and sweet fruits with a bit of pine. Flavor is pretty much the same with a good bitterness. Very enjoyable beer.

On tap at Lagunitas tap room, Pataluma (CA, USA). Orange clear pour, tick and resistant off-white cap. Nose: citric, almonds pastry. Mouth: complex citric-sweet orientation, juicy sweet tangerine soul, clean, dry finish! Just great! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber in Seattle. Stringy foam on darker gold. Dense pine resin and citrus. Medium body, tart and relatively clean. Resin density. A little alc bite and richness. A little much in creaminess in middle for me. Nice, but not my perfect hop balance.

Pours dark orange with medium head. Aroma: herbs, grass, followed by tropical fruit such as mango. Taste: citrussy-herbish, a touch of iron, followed by a strong bitter palate. Very good.

Pours clear dark golden, lasting head and good lacing. Aroma of resin, pine, some sweet fruit like mango and peach. No trace of alcohol. Medium body, medium carbonation. Sweet malty taste, sticky texture, but it gives not enough balance to welcome strong, vegetal, herbal and long bitterness on finish.
