COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2016 Tap@Søernes. Pours clear golden with white head. Aroma is light malty, but primarily hoppy with grass, pine and citrus fruits. Taste is fresh with light malt and a hint of biscuit yet hoppy with pine and floral citrus notes. Finish is fresh and bitter.

Sample at the brewery. Floral heavy, great golden color, full mouthfeel and a decent finish.

Aroma is old. Malt, earthy hops, tropical fruit, but with no bottle date who knows. Appearance is golden, white head, clear. Taste is old, citrus, fruit, malt, cereal, I’m sure it’s old. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, old hop aftertaste. Overall, I wish this didn’t taste so old/this beer came in fresh sometime.

355 ml bottle. Almost clear golden body with a medium sized off-white head. Strong aroma of citric hops and malt. Flavor is citric fruity hops with a fine malty base and well balanced bitterness for the style. Medium to full bodied and good, smooth aftertaste. Pretty straight forward APA, but damn well made and perfectly balanced. Easy to drink, easy to like.

Bottle. Pours a clear darkish gold, frothy white head, sticky lacing. An initial bright fruity hop aroma moves aside and reveals pine sap. Flavour has citrus, guava, pine, tangy and bitter, some earthy malt. Oily medium body, moderate bitterness, a tad sticky. Overall a decent PA, or perhaps XPA with that bitterness and ABV.

On tap at Growler Guys Meridian Very nice clear deep orange with a thin clingy light beige head and lacing. Rather up front piney hop aroma. More Woody herbal malt flavors with a bitterness that I don’t typically characterize as fresh hop flavors. Just sharp and dry

bottle left in my fridge. Upon opening, the beer started to foam up, almost like a gusher. poured into snifter. almost no head now. ok. very clear coppery orange color. Nose is piney with a biscuit malt presence. almost like a dry dog food aroma but with hops. Taste is very pine and fruit forward. lots of hop flavor with just a touch of malt sweetness. pretty dang good.

On tap at Lagunitas tap room, Pataluma (CA, USA). Semi clear gold pour, white foam with retention and draft. Nose: jasmine, tropical, very floral. Mouth: a little malt character, bitter hops in a balanced way, another good brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
