Grapefruit and pine hop aroma. A clear mild amber color. Mild bitterness. Sweet grapefruit sourness. Refreshing but the sourness kind of lingers in the finish.

Biscuit-like malts and citrus in aroma. The flavor is citrus, grapefruit, malts and a hint of hop resin. The malts and hops in this were balanced well, a very good APA.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 UDBeernut (467) - Saugerties, New York, USA - FEB 26, 2012
On tap poured into a pint glass.
A: light tan amber color with a foamy 2 finger head, gobs of head retention and lacing rings
S: slight citrus hop aroma, light caramel
T: grapefruit and slight orange molds well with a caramel malt base. Very nice
M&d: medium mouth feel, well carbonated. Not drying like some pale ales. Very easy to drink. I think this beer would make a good beer for changing of seasons from hot to cool or visa versa.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BucannonXC5 (333) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Poured from a 12-oz. bottle into a pint glass. Color was pale, fairly clear. A bit like apple juice or very dehydrated urine. About 1 ½ fingers of head. Nice lacing on the top with some circular bubbles, that lasted throughout. Foamy head on the sides, pretty sporadic.
The first smell was citrus hops, which was a pleasant surprise. Kind of a mixture of lemon and grapefruit, probably more grapefruit. Also got a small whiff of caramel sweetness, but very minimal.
The taste wasn’t as much like the nose as I would have hoped. Definitely more pale notes than the hoppy taste. Grainy and wheaty. Pretty smooth.
Light body. Thin texture. Soft-to-average carbonation. Bitter, but somewhat smooth finish.
Overall a decent beer. I guess I was secretly hoping for something a bit better since it’s Lagunitas, but I’d have it again.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jcos (679) - Maryland, USA - FEB 2, 2012
Location/Date:Bottle on February 2nd, 2012.
Appearance: Pours a dark copper clear.
Aroma:Aroma is very high in resiny hops, some grass. Strong for a pale ale.
Taste: Just like the nose, more bitterness than average APA, whic I like.
Palate:Lighter body, slick, lingering aftertaste.
Summary: An APA that is JUST below being an IPA, I really enjoy this beer.
