COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Tap. Small bubbled ivory head lasts long, much lace. Clear pale gold. Plenty of fruits and hops on aroma. Big hops, plenty of citric fruits and bitterness, pepper and herbs. Complex and balanced. Good APA

On tap at Lagunitas Chicago tap room served in the signature jar looking glass. Very hoppy with a nice spiciness at the end. Works great for washing down the outstanding barbacoa nachos with jalapenos.

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Hazy orange color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of piney hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, grapefruit and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap. Pours glowing gold with a tiny head but tons of lacing. Big dry pine and grassy nose. Bright bold hop attack with a carps finish with hints of malt.

Draft in a taster - nose is piny cat urine. Malty backbone with strong citrus notes. Solid and makes me express my satisfaction with inarticulatable sounds. Perfect combination of sweet and bitter. Standout!

Bottle. Dark gold with a huge fluffy white head. Pine and grapefruit aroma with bready/cracker malt. The taste follows. Soft mouthfeel. Standard pale ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a perfectly clear golden yellow color with a very healthy head. Aroma is citrusy and piney hops with some grapefruit which fades to a good sweet, biscuit like malt. Taste is a light bitter to start with a fantastic biscuit malt middle, probably the best biscuit note I’ve had to date, finishing with another bitter grapefruit, hoppy note that makes your mouth water. Overall a fantastic beer, Lagunita’s should be proud of this one.
