COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Pours a hazy orange with a small head. Lots of lemon, orange and grapefruit scent. Lots of lacing in the glass. Taste is heavy pineapple and grass. Really good APA!

12 oz bottle. Pours a translucent brass color with a smallish white head that has fair retention. The aroma is weak and undistinguished with barley malts, or perhaps this cold I have is messing with my sense of smell. The flavor is hops forward with spicy hops set in a neutral barley malt base. The palate is full ans smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes long and dry with lingering piney bitter hops. Overall: A nice little APA, compares to SNPA.

Pour out of bottle is hazy yellow-orange with white head, aroma has notes of lemony orange, some grapefruit in there as well with bittering grass notes, touch of biscuit and cracker in there. Taste is a mix of fruity citrus with lemon, orange, grapefruit, hints of bitter earth and slight grass, touch of biscuit finishes fairly dry. Not bad, would like a bigger version but it is very tasty!

NDG pours a mildly opaque orange with little to no head and boasts a neatly balanced medium body. The nose weaves autumn hay and orange rinds with a hint of cream. A taste of watered down orange juice highlights the citrus-leaning hops with some slight acidity that tickles the side of the tongue. An all around good offering from Lagunitas...like most of their brews.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2012 Bottled. Pours slightly hazy, amber with an average sized off-white head. Fair lacing. Nose of caramel and citrus notes. Sweet flavor of lemon, grapefruit, oranges and caramel notes. Medium bodied, creamy to oily texture and average carbonation. Ends up more dry and with a nice bitterness. Smooth and quite delicious.

Bottle 33 cl, ØlKonsortiet. Pours deep clear amber with a big off white head leaving lacing. Aroma is sweet, caramel, malty, piny, pungent, fruity and raisins. Flavor is like the aroma, has good bitterness. Very nice and drinkable. Finishes sweet, fruity and bitter.

One the the best APAs that I have tried. Hop bitterness in both aroma and taste, combined with solid malt and rich mouth feel. Hazy light amber color, and average head.

23-DEC-2011, bottle @home, from "Fish & Beer". Pours golden/orange with quickly dying beige head. Wonderful nose with hoppy bitter grape fruit, pine, and orange peel. Taste is the same. Body is oily with medium carbonation. Long bitter finish. I really love the hops in Lagunitas brews. I guess cascade plays a role? Very fine APA.
