COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

12oz bottle from Whole Foods. Pours a clear, honey-colored body with some off-white head that’s sticky and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops (orange) up front, light sweetness and some piney hops. Flavor is pine/resin hops, medium sweetness, (slightly unbalanced) and a mild, resin hop bitter ending. Fine carbonation and a medium to full mouthfeel.

12oz bottle from Whole Foods Los Altos. Pours a mostly clear golden-amber color with a lasting white head and amazing lacing that covers the whole side of the glass. Amazing aroma of floral and citrusy hops along with sweet honey and caramel malt. Smells a little like Lagunitas IPA. Flavor is great and balanced. Sweet caramel malt, pale malt, and honey, citrusy (orange/grapefruit) and piney hops. Medium body with lots of hop oils, like an IPA, on the mouthfeel, and a long finish. This is a great pale ale, one of the best from California in my opinion.

Rich gold pour with a big white head. Citrus hops galore! Light malt aroma. Flavor carries through with big citrus hops and a light malt bill. Good stuff. Really clean and really well done.

The aroma is very hoppy and is quite surprising. I took one whiff and thought wow! This is more like an IPA than a pale ale. There is grass, pine, citrus, and a big dose of caramel malt. The appearance is amber with a large foamy head. The taste is like the aroma exactly and not astringent at all. The palate is average for the style. Overall this is good stuff.

Bottle. Golden pour. Bready hoppy nose. Pine hop and a bit of caramel on taste. Solid IPA.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling dark golden pour with a sticky white head that leaves plenty of lacing on the glass. Fragrant aroma with plenty of spruce and some spiciness. Flavor has good solid bitterness without the usual cascade grapefruit flavor. flavor is more akin to nectarines with a solid nutty back end. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Much better than their old Dogtown Pale Ale. Could be a go to beer when nothing else new to rate.

Amber with a small white head. Hoppy aroma with apricot, pine and tobacco leaves. Dry and fruity flavour with very nice apricot and grapefruit notes. Pleasantly dry for a Lagunitas really
