COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Reviewed 3/7/13. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear golden color. The head is a one finger white shade not too out of the ordinary for the style - lowish retention, nice creaminess, good bit of lacing on the glass. S: It smells like a Lagunitas beer: grapefruity and herbal Simcoe hops abound. No, not nearly as much as Sucks, but still enough to wake the nostrils up. There’s also a lemony component here, too. As it sits in the glass, it actually becomes reasonably malty, with biscuit and bread notes. T: An initial salvo of grapefruit, lemongrass, pine, and sourdough bread counterbalancing suggest this one’s actually full of Centennial. Maltiness surges upwards on the finish, with a faint lemon zest bitterness to it. This one is all about balance without any craziness - too often, I find a lot of Centennial-hopped beers to be somewhat harsh (Founders Centennial IPA being a good example), but this one is really pleasant. M: Crisp and light, which is a feature I always love in pale ales. A mild syrupy linger accumulates after many sips; luckily it doesn’t weigh down the palate excessively. Carbonation is about what I expect. O: Lost in Sucksamania is this rock-solid pale ale. Yes, it tastes like many other hoppy offerings from Lagunitas - but when they’re all really good-to-fantastic, who cares? A great ’lunch’ beer.

Out of bottle. Golden in color. Better than average pale ale. Decent hop flavours, pine and citrus, but also has a decent malt backbone.

Clear, medium gold with an icy white head. Nondescript aroma. Crisp and drinkable, but utterly boring. Kolschy. Medium body, hops are clingy and not refreshing. A candidate for the server when explaining to the non-craft customer what they might order instead of Bud. On tap, Brass Tap Midtown Tallahassee.

Bottle. Golden, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightlly sweetish aroma, light caramel and some tropical fruitiness, some citrus - light grapefruit hoppyness. Body is Light to to medium, malty and dryish flavor, faint caramel, light tropical fruitiness and some grapefruit - citrus hoppyness. Finish is average to long, malty and dryish, faint caramel and light tropical fruitiness, citrus/piney hoppyness. APA with nice bitterness. Not too much caramel/not too sweet. Lightly malty body goes well along with bitterness.

Lys brun farge med fdingerhøyt hvitt skum. Lukter godt av humle, grape og litt strus. Mild humlepreget smak og svak bitter avslutning.

From bottle to pint glass. Aromas of wet grass and citrus. Moderate low caramel malt. Clear brushes gold with full, creamy white head that lingers. Taste is fresh citrus juice and moderate low pine. Moderately bittering makes this an easy one to quaff.

Flaska systembolaget. Gyllengul kulör med vitt skum. Fuktig doft av hö, barr, lite citrus och frostbitna äpplen. Sötmaltig smak med tallbarr och lite citrus. Rejäl och aningen sträv beska.

Golden colour with a small offwhite head. I like the crispy feel when it hits the tounge. tastes of light hop and pine. Citrus notes at the end. Overall a good beer.
