This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Reviewed 3/7/13. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear golden color. The head is a one finger white shade not too out of the ordinary for the style - lowish retention, nice creaminess, good bit of lacing on the glass. S: It smells like a Lagunitas beer: grapefruity and herbal Simcoe hops abound. No, not nearly as much as Sucks, but still enough to wake the nostrils up. There’s also a lemony component here, too. As it sits in the glass, it actually becomes reasonably malty, with biscuit and bread notes. T: An initial salvo of grapefruit, lemongrass, pine, and sourdough bread counterbalancing suggest this one’s actually full of Centennial. Maltiness surges upwards on the finish, with a faint lemon zest bitterness to it. This one is all about balance without any craziness - too often, I find a lot of Centennial-hopped beers to be somewhat harsh (Founders Centennial IPA being a good example), but this one is really pleasant. M: Crisp and light, which is a feature I always love in pale ales. A mild syrupy linger accumulates after many sips; luckily it doesn’t weigh down the palate excessively. Carbonation is about what I expect. O: Lost in Sucksamania is this rock-solid pale ale. Yes, it tastes like many other hoppy offerings from Lagunitas - but when they’re all really good-to-fantastic, who cares? A great ’lunch’ beer.

.355l bottle @ Revolution Pub. Pours clear golden with high, foamy white head. Aroma is exotic fruits, citrus fruits, malts, bread notes, rotten fruits and alcohol notes. Flavor is mostly same. Well balanced beer! Swell!,

Pours clear pale golden. Very nice prominent citrus and pine aroma. Light bodied, this is all about the hops, but still balanced. Finishes with an assertive bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden pour with a single finger head. Lots of bubbles. Aroma of grain...a very light aroma. Light mouth. Taste is bright with a bit of fruitiness. Nicely balanced and very easy drinking. Slight bitterness at the end. Lace present.

Bottle. Caramel nose, with citrus, tropical fruit -- somehow it seems to have some funk. Clear orange/amber color. Sweetish caramel, citurs, generous hopping, a bit spicy, some dark licorice-like notes, and good bittering in final. Thin-medium body. Tasty and well-balanced stuff.

Aroma of malts, caramalts and hops (citrus, pine). Taste is much of the same but a little bit to sweet for me. An average APA.

Started with this one on the morning of Christmas on a hot NZ summers day. Nicely fruity and aromatic. Looks lively and golden in the glass and has just enough bitterness to keep you on your toes. An awesome replacement for your morning coffee

Tap at Watering Hole. Pours a clear gold with no head. Grapefuit and pine resin aromas with some light biscuity malts in the background. Bitter on the palate with good citrus notes. Average carbonation and body that hides the 6% abv fairly well. Finish is citrusy and bitter and lingers. Very solid.

Look; clear golden body with an off white standing head. Aroma; forest, pine, resin, juicy citrus. Taste; pine, citrus, hops, roasted malts, juices, resin and wood - leading to a leafy piney finish . On palate solid, soft carbonation. Overall; good brew. [35.5cl btl, abv5.9%, BB24.06.2016, B@Systembolaget]
