This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Reviewed 3/7/13. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear golden color. The head is a one finger white shade not too out of the ordinary for the style - lowish retention, nice creaminess, good bit of lacing on the glass. S: It smells like a Lagunitas beer: grapefruity and herbal Simcoe hops abound. No, not nearly as much as Sucks, but still enough to wake the nostrils up. There’s also a lemony component here, too. As it sits in the glass, it actually becomes reasonably malty, with biscuit and bread notes. T: An initial salvo of grapefruit, lemongrass, pine, and sourdough bread counterbalancing suggest this one’s actually full of Centennial. Maltiness surges upwards on the finish, with a faint lemon zest bitterness to it. This one is all about balance without any craziness - too often, I find a lot of Centennial-hopped beers to be somewhat harsh (Founders Centennial IPA being a good example), but this one is really pleasant. M: Crisp and light, which is a feature I always love in pale ales. A mild syrupy linger accumulates after many sips; luckily it doesn’t weigh down the palate excessively. Carbonation is about what I expect. O: Lost in Sucksamania is this rock-solid pale ale. Yes, it tastes like many other hoppy offerings from Lagunitas - but when they’re all really good-to-fantastic, who cares? A great ’lunch’ beer.

Poured from bottle. Strong citrus aroma. Pours a clear golden with frothy white head. Taste is medium bitter. Light to medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, with a bitter finish. An interesting pale ale with some peppercorn flavour.

A really solid pale ale with a unique after palate that makes me want to keep drinking it. Lighter but with that bitter finish it's an awesome balance of heavy hops and refreshing. First pale of Father's Day 2015. Bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A stable American Pale Ale with caramel malt and west coast style hops. Nothing amazing but well tasting.

Pours a clear amber with a foamy lasting white head. Smells of citrus - grapefruit lemon and hint of tangerine. Taste is bitter and sweet - bread malts followed by a citrus bitter hop.

Has a very citric aroma. Flavor is big on grapefruit with a dank finish. Comes out with a straw coloring and dense white head. Texture is crisp and clean. Hits all throughout the mouth. Easy drinking beer.

On tap at The Brass Tap poured a clear tarnished gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness, pine and light citrus, Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness, citrus and pine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Świetny owocowy aromat, z nuta trawiastą, delikatnie winna, delikatnie naftowa. Trochę pachnie nowozelandzkimi chmielami. Piwo klarowne, barwa złota, kapitalny lacing, kiepska piana. W smaku podobne nuty jak w aromacie, jedynie z dodana lekka goryczka w tle. Goryczą zostaje na chwile w posmaku. Rewelacyjne piwo.
