COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2013 What a great pale ale. I love my pales juicy upfront and slightly dry in the finish and that?s exactly where new Dogtown Pale comes through. Very drinkable and interesting, you can?t go wrong.

Bright golden pour, gently speckled with yeast. Smell is skunky hop and earth. Nice pale, musky-citrus taste but with a solid malt body to back it up. Sweet hoppy linger. Good drink.

Pours a clean clear amber with moderate white head. Aroma is fresh citrus hops, and citrus fruit. The taste is oranges, mango, tangerines, apricot, light pine, wood, and some light spicy hops. Slightly bitter. Refreshing afternoon beer.

@Roland’s post Mondial tasting; beautifully merging bergamotte, grapefruit, lemon, honey melon aromas, good mouthfeel, unobtrusive malt base, typical grapefruit bitterness. Nice one.

Orange amber looks and barely any head on top. Aroma has citrus, pines and some flowery notes. Taste has pines, grass and grapefruit. Not that fresh taste to be honest. Medium body with high carbonation. A little too straightforward pale ale.

On tap @ Hoppy Monk S.A. - Floral noted aroma rises from a clear amber pour with a medium lasting white head and abundant lacing. The taste is tangerine, grapefruit, and nice floral notes. Medium body and medium carbonation. Crisp, clean mouthfeel. Overall, a very rewarding taste experience. Would drink again.

A rugged hop forward west coast pale that showcases the citric hop profile of the region it was brewed in, but keeps a lightly malty base to play against. Somewhat heavy handed bittering hops lend a long finish that would not play well with a variety of foods. A pale for hopheads.
