This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Poured into glass. Really nice taste with nice hints of bread, citrus and with a slightly bitter finish. Smooth and nice. Looks appealing. Let it rest a bit after taking it out of the fridge.

Look; clear golden body with an off white standing head. Aroma; forest, pine, resin, juicy citrus. Taste; pine, citrus, hops, roasted malts, juices, resin and wood - leading to a leafy piney finish . On palate solid, soft carbonation. Overall; good brew. [35.5cl btl, abv5.9%, BB24.06.2016, B@Systembolaget]

Pale gold in color, thick creamy white head. Aroma of tart apple, grain and west coast hops. A thin mouthfeel, great hop profile, typical Lagunitas style with a dry finish. Left me wanting more though, good flavor but something was missing to pull it all together.

(355ml bottle from Systembolaget, bb 06/2016) Pours dark gold with a small white head that fades without lace. Aroma sweetish pale malts, some grain, faint orange and grassy hops, little macro corn thing. Palate is sweetish pale malts and grain, orange juice and pith, pink grapefruit, pine and grass, a bit doughy. Bitterness on the lighter side, grapefruit and pine, some grain in the finish. Iced tea too. Feels like cascade hops. Lightish body with little carb. Not the freshest, typical in Sweden I guess, but also not particularly inspiring either. Lagunitas has better pale ale-type beers than this.

Good pour with a slightly off white head. Tropical aroma gives way to floral notes, sweet malt. Taste is tangerine, sweet malt, slight pine. Dry finish, light body. Slightly dangerous @6.2%...extremely drinkable.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Cigarette City, Seabrook, NH. Nearly clear gold with frothy, white head. Aroma is just the same as most Laguntias, light floral and moderate pine.

Flavor is citrus rind upfront, floral notes and as always.... Pine. Funny thing is this brewer seems to have the same malt and hop profile in all their beers. (Am I imagining this?)

The main flaw with this brew is the super thin/ watery body. Not awful just watery. Now that they have sold 50% of the brewery to Heineken, this is my last beer from these folks.

This pale ales powerful foam leaves an aroma pass which is absolutely fantastic. Good strong hops notes with flower and citrus rises from the glass. Tropical fruit, a little grass, pine needles and light butterscotch taste in the beginning. A little tingling on the tongue tastes along the other herbs such as mild green pepper. The hop is a pleasure for themselves. Strong hoppy citrus and floral notes characterize the aftertaste and keeps it for a long time. A very elegant pale ale, I would like to confess at the margin of an IPA. Lovely dry aftertaste. I just knew in advance that it would impress me, for it has Lagunitas done before. You must like big amounts of hops to like this.

My only problem with this beer is its aftertaste - just a little too bitter. Lagunitas have a number of better options, but it's still a good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
