COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2011 Bottle. The pour was clear medium orange with a small (less than 1 finger) fizzy white head that did not stick around too long and had what I would call OK lacing. The aroma was of quite noticeable of citrus and pine hops right off, with a mild caramel malt and an earthy yeast undertone with mild notes of fruit and citrus towards the end. It tasted nice and hoppy with a strong note of citrus (grapefruit) right off the bat then became a tad malty with a note of fruit and a nice strong hoppy finish. The flavor lasted for quite a while after the swallow allowing the bitterness of the hops to settle in nicely on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was medium to full bodied and very smooth and a bit dry in texture with a medium carbonation. Overall a very satisfying Pale Ale that had a nice blending of fruit, malts and hops.

Bottle from Antenna America. Aroma is citrussy, lemon, touch of solvents! Taste is good, pretty bitter, lemon is prominent, biscuity maltiness lingering in the background. Nice.

Its pale and really hazy. Crispy clean malt flavor of light crackers with grapefruity hop presence and a bit of sweet...apricot? midpalate, dry and really just a solid tasty pale.

Bottles at some way upscale restaurant in Tempe AZ.

Cooper pour, modest head. Hoppy nose, slightly metallic. Heavily hopped (but not so leafy) for an APA, less overdone caramel malt than with other Lagunitas beers. I’d call it a drinkable but by no means exceptional IPA.

In the vein of beers that are as hoppy as they come this one is up there... I feel like it should be an ipa (written from notes(i was quite blitzed at this point)).

Pours a light straw gold with two fingers of frothy white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim and moderate lacing. Nose is dominated by hops, pine and citrus, with very little malt in the back. Taste is dominated by grapefruit, maybe a very little dry cracker. Mouth feel is on the light side, with an astringent and oily hop finish. A nicely hoppy pale ale and very drinkable.

Beese (1117) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2014
Draught at the Euston Tap, London on 28 March 2014. Poured a clear, deep golden colour with a dense white head. Aroma of fresh hops, citrus and biscuity malt. Initial flavours of ripe grapefruit, passion fruit and chewy malt. Finish was very nicely rounded hop bitterness, mixed with syrupy fruit and dry grain.

Pours a pretty and appetizing clear amber - not much head, but that is how it got poured. Bold aroma has sweet malt and resiny hops in equal strength, almost more an IPA than a "regular" pale ale. Flavor is more hoppy than malty, scarcely bitter, with a whisper of caramel. Firm texture has a strong, persistent fizz. Will have you barking for more!
