This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

It smells like a lot of tropical fruits. Mangoes, pears, raspberry and some citrus all from the hops...fantastic. I also get a cracker like malt sweetness. I get all of those smells I just described in the taste as well with a sharp citric bitterness mixing in with the cracker sweet malt that mixes in with the sweetness from the hop flavors very well. Medium mouth feel not too light but definitely not heavy by any means. Definitely a pale ale by the way the mouthfeel is. If it was a bit thicker in body this could almost pass for an IPA pretty much. Excellent Pale Ale. One of my favorites for sure.

Tap at Eureka Burger. Pours a very light straw yellow with tiny white head. Aroma was hay, grass, slight dirt and an ever so faint orange peel. Taste is a very light lemon pepper, honey and grass flavor that has a very thin mouth feel.

12oz bottle from Beer Army Outpost in New Bern, N.C. Golden hue, hazy clarity with mostly diminishing white bubbly head. Good lacing. Citrus hop, orange aromas. Bitter orange hop up front with a pineapple finish. Lively carbonation, wet on the palate.

6 months old. Very mellowed out, mellowed out fruitiness, extremely low fruitiiness, very refreshing. No malt base whatsoever, pure hop, but feels a bit mellowed out. Weak alcohol taste to it.

355 ml bottle. Clear light orange with white head. Smell is grapefruit and citrus and fruits. Taste is very hoppy with grapefruit and hay and citrus. High bitterness for the style. Dry and crisp. One of the best pale ales!

Bottle: Clear gold with a frothy white head. Sweet orange-peel aroma. Citrus, orange...spicy grassy hops. Nothing fancy here..just a plain, good and solid APA. Really nice.

Bouteille. Saveur Bière. Robe orange clair, mousse blanche.
