COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There are two kinds. There is the DayTime kind, which is bright and welcoming and then there is the NightTime kind, which should never be confused with the DayTime. NightTime is dark and deep and may take you to unexpected places, places that the DayTime cannot. But then, the NightTime is not suited for ordinary life and ordinary tasks. In fact, NightTime may be the answer for that sort of thing, meaning that those sorts of things may never get done. Things take time in the NightTime, things slow down and you can puase (you have to, actually) and investigate carefully to find that level of objective detachment that is only possible under the spell of the NightTime. Seek the Day, but fear not the Night.

2015 bottle at home. Pours black, white foamy head. Nice contrast between beer and foam. Aroma is pine, floral hops, a bit of roasted malts. Nice IPA smell. Taste is piney, earthy hops, roast malts, a bit of cracker and light coffee notes. Moderate bitterness. Good IPA that had me questioning if it was actually as black as it is. Balanced, great example of this style. Grab one.

Black beer. Space heavier roast than most of its style and sweeter to familiar dry hot profile common to so many of the style. good.

Tropical fruits on the nose. The same applies to the taste and even a little sweet. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Lovely beer but maybe a little too bitter. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Dark and hoppy in the aftertaste, weirdly malty on the front end. Pours nice, but not my style. Top quality beer, though, as everything from Lagunitas seems to be. I wouldnt drink more than two of these at any setting. The hop aftertaste is almost overwhelming, and it seems to sit on the tongue forever.

Black pour, brown head. Roasty aroma with notes of dank, resinous hops. Flavor is big and roasty, dank, sharp, hoppy and boozy.

Very dark brown, almost black with a large tan head. A great black IPA. Heavy on the hops with an excellent roasty taste. This beer is well balanced, has a pretty full body and nice hints of chocolate and coffee.

Beer club 22oz. bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with a very enticing medium tan head. Roasted malt aroma carries thru with coffee and maybe a little carmel to taste. Didn't seem to be a 8% alc. beer. Very good, although 65 is pushing my IBU tolerance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Has. DBIPA. Holy crap, this is like the opposite of Pepsi clear. Abuse of hops (not a bad thing) in all stages of additions). An interesting element brought by the darkness, but still a rough hop bomb. Very butter. Maybe that is needed to balance the burnt malt, otherwise, Lag knows better. Some tops the scale, tho all hop. BDIPA is still in infancy, so who knows. If this was amber, it would be a text book generic over hop DIPA. But as a BDIPA, this is great

Draught @ NYC Craft Beer Festival. Hazy dark brown with very small foamy beige head, floral hops aroma, medium carbonation, citrus taste, long bitter finish with lemon peel aftertaste. Quite nice!
