3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not horrible, but a little much. Clear red orange colored. Raisin, sweet malts, and biscuit in the aroma. The taste is big caramel and raisin, with a heavy hop bitterness. Just a tad too sweet and even too bitter. Well carbonated. Slightly sticky. Okay stuff.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
22oz bottle, purchased from my local Kroger for like $6. 2015 release. Shared with friends. Big caramel malt up front, kind of biscuity. Bigger malty sweet taste overall. Clear red orange color. Thin whtie head. Sort of bubbly. Few bits of lace. Bigger body. Kind of crisp, light carbonation. Sticky texture. Earthy, caramel, raisin flavors. Not a fan. Friends liked it a bit better than I, though.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle. Pours a dark ruby red color with a small disappearing beige head. Huge burnt sugar, alcohol and butterscotch aroma. Notes of resiny hops as well. Sweet malt flavor upfront. Lots of buttery brown sugar and light tobacco flavors. Bittersweet malt and spicy hops are the rule of thumb here. Notes of black pepper, marmalade and toffee. Complex and hoppy. A satisfying warming alcohol finish crowns this delicious barleywine ale.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a one finger white foamy head that gets bubbly as it dissipated. Light bubbly lacing sticks and slides.
The smell had a syrupy caramel malt over top of bitter citrus rind, a light tobacco also shows up as it warms up.
The taste combines the bitter citrus to the caramel mixes in a light toffee. Tobacco is slightly there but really light. Bitter citrus aftertaste leads to a semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping quality about it. Carbonated nicely as an American Barleywine, harshness pierces with an ample amount of bitterness but nothing over the top.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good American Barleywine but nothing really over the top.
