Bottle thanks to Ed. Pretty fresh. Very hopped up barleywine. Pours a reddish brown with a white head. Aromas of caddied orange and piney hops. Taste is sweet at first but finishes bitter. Notes of caramel. Interested to try after all the hops are gone.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
2015 bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a two finger off-white head that left some good lacing around the glass and had great retention. The aroma pine, brown sugar, caramel, candy sugar, earthy hops. The taste is piney hops up front and finishes with brown sugar and caramel. The mouthfeel is full-bodied. There is quite a bit of hop bitterness with this beer and I canít say anything bad about it but I just wasnít a huge fan of it. Still worth a try.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Tried both the 2011 and 2015 on draft. 2011 maltier and richer, 2015 very hop-forward, almost like a barleywine IPA. Both delicious, though 2011 was more like a traditional barleywine.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from a 22. Aroma is sweet, caramel like. Flavor has a sharp, not yet ripe apple taste to it. Really makes my mouth pucker. Finishes very bitter and astringent.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
As soon as I crack the bottle I notice a fresh, delicious hop aroma! Ruby (bright) with a cm of tan, medium coarseness head. Aroma is moderate-strong floral and berry hops (blue raspberry dum-dums!) moderate-light dark caramel and pine sap. Touch of artificial vanilla. Body is medium-heavy, starchy-syrupy, with medium-light carbonation, fine, medium-light burn, soft but fat. Not overbearing. Flavor is moderate berry hops and dark, chewy caramel, some candy and a bit of toasted flour and artificial vanilla. Moderate-to-big bitterness (tree, evergreen) in the finish, but is mostly balanced by the rest of the beer. Manages to be big without cloying or fatiguing (later, once warmed a bit, it did become a bit sweeter/heavier than I would have liked). Also, very hoppy (especially hop flavor) without leaving the bounds of barley wine: the light touch of dark chewy caramel is a highlight.
