3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OKplus (560) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 7, 2013
A - Nice amber mahogany body with a light khaki head. Small strings of lace.
S - Toasted crackery toffee malt, apples, nuts, beef jerky cure, sugary cherries, grapes, hints of chocolate, bits of smokiness
T - Candied orange peel, enveloped in thick slab of sugary cherry malt. Very toasted and nutty flavors going on. Caramel covered fruit comes out - cherries, grapes, apricots, cider apples. Hops bleed in to battle the dense vehement malts.... but there is only one victor. The impenetrable malt holds strong and the vaillant hops break the barrier just enough to bring a sense of balance to the iron fisted malts.
M - Viscous, thick, full, syrupy at times, low carbonation.
This is a big power slap in your fresh-shaven face! (In a good way) Fits perfectly in it’s style and it’s not afraid of...anything. It’s bold and strong and just enough hops to keep this in the American category.
This is no surprise to an awesome brewery who is capable of breaking dimensions and curing diseases with there beers.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PhillyCraft (2125) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2013
Bottle. Red somewhat clear pour with not much head to note. Lacing is not much either. Aromas and taste of dark fruits, sweet malts, tangy hops, pine, and toffee. A little bit boozey but not over the top. This is one of the rare cases where a Lagunitas beer needs more hops. The malt wins out slightly.
