Clear yellow pour with faint traces of foam on top. Sour scent, very iron-y. Pretty bubbly. Taste is plain and watery, bitter, plain and salty. Finish is bitter and metallic iron.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a clear straw gold body with a one finger frothy white head that left some nice lacing. The nose is bready and crackery maltiness with a light floral and noble hop note. The flavor is a little less bright and hoppy than I was hoping for. The hops and bitterness level is very low. Still a nice dry, crisp, and crackery malt base that helps though. Light bodied and dry with soft fizzy carbonation. OK overall, but not as bright and hoppy as I was looking for.

Average pils nothing special which is not a bad thing. Crisp and bubbly. And what makes it Czech style? Haha

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This is not a true pilsner. The aroma is strongly hoppy but with a weird grapefruit note. The color is straw but a shade darker than continental pilsners; the head is thick and retains well. The taste is not grainy enough; the malts are too thick and heavy and the hops come through in a cloying manner. The beer could be an alright lager, but it is no Czech pilsner.

Golden in color it has a typical lager aroma. It has more of a bite with the flavor and a bit more complexity.

On tap at Blackthorn Pub, Holly,MI..fantastic rendition of Czech Pils...dry crisp and clean this is what (I think anyway) what a Pils/lager should be and is in fact what it used to be before the mega-corporations turned it in to the Butt Lite swill of today. Thanks Lagunitas for making this style awesome again!

Clean and clear light gold, which pours a big head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma is very mild, it reminds me of what I thought beer was when I was growing up. This is a clean, crisp and easy going down beer that is refreshing. There is a slight floral bouquet with some sweetness as well as a wheat flavor. For a pilsner this is a pretty good beer, smooth and refreshing. I would drink this beer again, it’s worth a shot. ($8.99 a six pack)

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fresh aroma of citrus hop and floral medley. Definite banana and clove as well. Slight prickly bitterness on the front. Mellows out and left with some alcohol, malt and more hop.

It may be called a czech style pilsner, but it is still distinctly American. It’s good, but too hoppy and harsh. Pours with a thin head, and a deep yellow color.
