COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In The beginning, there were ales. As far as anyone knows, the first beers made were ’top-fermented’, which is longhand for ’Ale’. Sometime long before the 1860’s, beers became popular that were made in Northern Europe with a bottom fermenting yeast strain that liked the colder temperatures. Because they had to spend weeks aging before they tasted their best, they were known as ’Lager’ beer. Lager is the German word for ’storage’. Since they had to sit a while, they took up more time and space and as such were harder and more expensive to make. Where ales are meaty, lagers are sinewy. Where ales are street, lagers are ’haute couture’. Where an ale might hit you over the head and take your wallet, lagers donate to charity and adopt stray cats. While an ale might steal your car or try to date your daughter and keep her out all night for who-knows-what purpose, a well bred lager would offer to clean your house while you’re on vacation and leave fresh scones and coffee for you when you return. Now, don’t get us wrong, ales can be a lot of fun to hang out with when you’re in the right mood, and if you have bail money on you. But what’s wrong with livin’ uptown from time to time, on a nice street, where the doormen all wear those little uniforms, the air smells of flowers, and lagers rule the Earth. Cheers!

Overall really liked this beer 12 oz bottle. Crisp and clean could drink a few of them. Average carb, thin and light.

Lagunitas PILS has a very thick, white head, heavy lacing left behind, and a mostly clear, gold appearance, with powdery sediment, throughout, and a few lazy, ascending bubbles. Aroma is of yeasty biscuit, and the flavor is of those two elements, riding alongside fairly bitter, grassy hops. Mouthfeel is medium, and Lagunitas PILS finishes crisp and refreshing. RJT

Pours a light clear yellow color with a corn aroma. Taste is bready, malty, and good corn malt flavor. A decent beer for the style, with your typical bitterness bite of aftertaste you get from European style beers.

Draft at Boll Weevil. Pretty good pils. Hops were evident but obviously not overpowering. Bready malts and a final product that went down smooth and refreshing.

6%ABV. Czech Pilsner Poured out a light gold color, 6şSRM. Bubbly and effervescent. Very inviting. Nose was full of breadlike aromas of yeast, bread dough, wheat flour. There is that wet cement nose of live yeast. Intriguingly, there was nose of steamy corn like putting your face in a bowl of hot buttered corn! Pronounced carbonation. Palate was full of bread dough, wheat flour, water cracker, pale malt. Abrupt bitter hops on the palate, pine, grass, like sucking on green wheat stalks. Good bitter finish with rich hoppy character. Enough to deserve the label "pilsener" Goes on favorites list.

12oz pour from refrigerated bottle into a stange. Yellow, clear, very well carbonated, fluffy white head, and great lacing. Perfect appearance for a pils. Body is bready and a little yeast. Medium body, creamy. Sweet and biscuity. A well-done pils.

Grassy pils malt aroma with a bit of herbal hop character on the nose with hints of lemon and grass. Pale straw colored with thin white head, good lacing. Very herbal-floral forward hop flavors. Palate is okay but the high carb rate, accurate for style, makes the pallate a bit harsh and carbonic bite tends to accentuate bitterness. Overall it has some wonderful characteristics and hits the notes of the style. It’s certainly an expressive representation of the style and that’s great. However, there is something about it that throws the balance a tad off. Will absolutely drink it again.

Clear gold body. Head is slight. Nose fruity, of pineapple and citrus. Taste is sweet, more citrus and malts. Oily texture. Decent.

Almost clear light pale yellow with ultra fine particulate in suspension (could not decipher bottle code for freshness). Head and lacing disappearing quickly, leaving behind some layers. Has some bitterness and complexity but falls short overall. $9.99/12oz sixer at Publix Boca Raton Florida
