In The beginning, there were ales. As far as anyone knows, the first beers made were ’top-fermented’, which is longhand for ’Ale’. Sometime long before the 1860’s, beers became popular that were made in Northern Europe with a bottom fermenting yeast strain that liked the colder temperatures. Because they had to spend weeks aging before they tasted their best, they were known as ’Lager’ beer. Lager is the German word for ’storage’. Since they had to sit a while, they took up more time and space and as such were harder and more expensive to make. Where ales are meaty, lagers are sinewy. Where ales are street, lagers are ’haute couture’. Where an ale might hit you over the head and take your wallet, lagers donate to charity and adopt stray cats. While an ale might steal your car or try to date your daughter and keep her out all night for who-knows-what purpose, a well bred lager would offer to clean your house while you’re on vacation and leave fresh scones and coffee for you when you return. Now, don’t get us wrong, ales can be a lot of fun to hang out with when you’re in the right mood, and if you have bail money on you. But what’s wrong with livin’ uptown from time to time, on a nice street, where the doormen all wear those little uniforms, the air smells of flowers, and lagers rule the Earth. Cheers!

Draft pour at special brews brewers night. Pours blonde with no head really. Small hops and corn on the aroma. Corn and grassy flavors. Never been my style here, so consider that when I say I’m not a big fan. Not too bad though. Drinkable.

12Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear light yellow, big white foamy head, and lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma yeast , grain and some malts. Taste is of grain and yeast mostly, some malts finishes a bit sticky. Nice pils, easy to drink, refreshing and enjoyable, not bad at all.

Bottle. Clear gold with a big white head and active carbonation. Aroma is grassy, fruity and sweet. Taste follows and adds slight caramel and toast notes. Decently full mouthfeel and strong carb. Solid.

Overall nice, drinkable pilsner. Rich golden color with light white head. Great taste, slight sweetness touch to it. Good idea to throw one in a make-your-own six pack, will have again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle to cold glass. Splendid golden appearance with a soft head that you could land on. Sweet, malty aroma with a very faint hint of citrus. Very pleasant to drink with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Short to medium finish. As you go further into it, the caramel aroma really starts to shine. Very tasty.

Draft at Eureka! Clear gold pour, white head. Aroma of grass, toast, sulfur and just a bit fruity. Lightly sweet, short dry finish that’s minimally bitter. Overall: a so-so pilsener, would personally like it more back at 5.3%.

I’m really loving this one right here. I’m not much of a pilsner guy but I love pretty much everything lagunitas does so I saw this in Publix and got the last few singles they had. After pouring into the glass I just looked at the beer and was blown away at how nice it looked. White pillowy head, beautiful golden color. Went right into the aroma. Sweet biscuity malt. Loads of this. It was so awesome. Taste was spot on. Sweet malts just blast you in the face. It’s just an awesome beer. I’m really glad I tried it.

Drank from bottle. Nose is hay, corn, bread, and dough. Taste is sweet, crisp, with a faint taste of citrus, and cereal. Small hop presence, medium bodied with medium carbonation. Meh
