Grovlam (2984), Copenhagen, Denmark May 13, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Large fin bubbled off-white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Sparkling body with a lovely golden colour. Aroma was quit impressive with sweet notes of hops, apricot, citrus, grassy, some underlying malty sweetness, toffee, grain. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry and smooth texture. Very well balanced light to moderated sweet and bitter flavor with a hint of acidic. Light dry and sweet apricot finish with a mild bitter twist at the very end. Excellent Bohemian Pilsener I must say and one that I could drink all night. Well done.
NomDeBeer (129), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 15, 2008 Clear gold color, small white head. Grassy hops dominate the flavor and aroma. Dry, bitter finish. Could be hoppier. Drinkable but uneventful. HughConway (259), USA Aug 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours golden with slight haze. Hop aroma. Taste is hop and malt. One of the best American pilseners. Capa (719), Yokosuka, Japan Aug 12, 2008 Slight haze in this golden pils. Grassy hop aroma with light malt undertones. Flavor is similar with the hay and grass hops giving it a very crisp and refreshing quality. Mouth is lightly dry. Extremely enjoyable pilsner; underrated. kiehlbuckeye (6), Prosperity, South Carolina, USA does not count Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours golden, with orange tint. Flavor is not too bitter, fruity, hoppy. Slightly sweet, Pretty smooth. Good beer, easy to drink, not a even if you’re not a pilsner fan you gotta admit this is a well made beer. this one is great and you should try it. Stine (1320), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 11, 2008 Blank dirty orange pour. Tinny-sweet aroma of aluminum, corn, brown cereal, and honey on sticky rice. Plain, bedridden sweetness. No herbal or musty qualities, and no bitterness, even of the simplest type. Flavor of brown cereal, and toasted honey. There’s a papery dryness about it that’s clean enough, but that hardly replaces the crisp, punchy bitterness it maybe used to be; there’s no knowing how old this bottle is. Sticky, sweet medium-light palate. Shit. This stuff seems very old. Rerate eventually.
