| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Suspended hops and stuff in an amber pour with a three finger airy slowly fading off-white head. Aroma is very sweet and hoppy with toffee, caramel, resinous hops and their trademark alcohol. Taste of toffee, citrus, orange, alcohol, light diacetyl. It’s just a touch too cloyingly sweet for my likes and finishes with mild bitterness and warming. askofficerfriendly (344), Riverview, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2009 A: Pours a nice bronze color that almost looks like an amber ale. There is a huge rocky head that puffs up nicely and hangs around for sometime. What is left makes layer after layer of lacing, some of the best I have ever seen.
S: Resiny pine. pine needles, pine cones, pine sap, pine sol. No matter how you say it the aroma is pure pine.
T: As soon as this one passes your tongue you are hit with a subtle citrus taste which is quickly overrun by a nice strong piney bitterness. The bitterness fades and is then overtaken by a wonderful caramel malty sweetness.
M: Full bodied and pretty thick. BOLTZ7555 (1144), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Another solid offering by Lagunitas. Copper colored brew with a pillowy white head that left rings of lacing. Aroma is a nice balance of lemongrass and buttermilk biscuit. Honey, pine, and citrus also find their way to the flavor which is refreshing and highly drinkable considering the ABV of this one. Medium mouthfeel with ample carbonation. Good. jcr (1212), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Bottle. Amber body. Off-white, frothy, diminishing head. Sweet, malty aroma of cookie, graham cracker, toasted grain with notes of grapefruit and pine. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, watery texture turning sticky, almost chewy. Moderately carbonation. Alcohol warming. At first sip, the beer is dominated by sweet malts, but those are overrun by the hops. There is not a lot of depth, but the balance makes this a nice drinking beer. jimmay (253), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 21, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours dark copper in flavour, with modest head. Big aroma and taste! Aroma is sweet with a sprucey, herbal hop finish. Flavour is also on the sweet side, with, again, a sprucey hint. Quite good!
