yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Feb 25, 2008 Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Piney hops and some malt in the aroma. Good, but maybe a bit simple. The flavor is more pronounced on the malt, with a good sweetness, as well as piney hops, finishing with a long, bitter, fruity and piney flavor. Full body. Nice beer, but not outstanding. (080118) dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Feb 25, 2008 Thanks to Ian for the 12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a thick white head. Aroma is creamy and malty, but accented by lot of citrusy hops. Taste has lots of caramel malt, malt sweetness with a thick body and lots of hops. Goes down very smooth and leaves just a little hop bitter finish. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Feb 24, 2008 22 oz bottle. Hazy orange body with a medium white head. Aroma is dominated by citrus/hops. Flavor is fruity, light malty, bitter and a bit sweet. Harmonic and a bit straight forward. Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Feb 19, 2008 Bright coppery colored with cloudy appearance. Medium sized yellow head. Fruity and sweet, plummy aroma even with appricot and grains, some licorice and lemon also present. Medium alcohol comes up. Medium bodied. Flavor is surprisingly hopped with fruity appricot in start, aftertaste has medium and lasting alcohol. Well, too alcoholic and aroma is totally different from flavor. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Feb 11, 2008 Bottle, 7.6%. Dusty, grassy hop aroma, quite malty. Hazy copper colour, small white head. Distinct bitter on the front of the tongue, not unpleasant. Quite malty. Hint of liquorice flavour? There seems to be a little soy in an otherwise OK finish. Creamy carbonation. Quite flavourful, but hides the alcohol well, even though it could have done with less alcohol. jj21 (84), Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, USA Feb 4, 2008 On tap at Horse & Plow
Pours a light orange with light, quickly disappearing head. Some carbonation but not a lot. Hoppy aroma contains a lot of pine and citrus. Heavy Grapefruit. Bitter hops up front with a nice malt backbone. I agree with previous reviews, this is more of an IPA than a Cream Ale. I loved this beer! KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Feb 2, 2008 Hazy amber with mediaum off white head. Aroma is fruity and sweet with malt and loads of hops. Same goes for the flavor with waming alcohol and a nice hop bite in the end. Mouthfeel is nice and creamy. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 2, 2008 Pours a clear darker amber that has a slight reddish hue to it. Nice crème head. Nose is stringent hoppy-ness. Flavor is just an absolute kick in the mouth of piney, syrupy, heavy duty hops. And somehow, a nice creamy edge seems to peek through and show itself. This is a cream ale after all. Feel is smooth on liquid. Very good level of carbonation. Overall extremely drinkable. This is not like your standard cream ale here. This one carries a lot more hops and a bigger kick in the mouth. But overall it is very smooth and is very easy to drink.
