First rating: Orange and hazy; presents as a mild IPA with soft fuggles-type hops, smooth finish but a crisp IPAish bite in the front and middle. Lots of sweetness akin to honey, with assistance from floral and citrus elements. Bit a orange/rind in the aroma. 8/3/8/4/16 = 3.9
Second rating: Very clear appearance this time with fluffy head. Sweet, soft, slick and smooth palate, despite the fruity acidity. Makes for a heck of a session beer taste-wise, the slickness may be from some alcohol as this is surprisingly high in ABV.
ChristianSA (368), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 26, 2007 Bottle. Hazy copper with small white head dragging fine lace. Aroma is hoppy/fruity in a fresh soapy way. Smooth flavor with caramel and hoppy notes of melon, papaya and slight smoke notes???. Smooth mouth flavor and medium long bitter aftertaste. A pleasant beer - I do not see why it is called a cream ale though... PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 26, 2007 Bottle: Copper colored pour with minimal off-white head. Has a mild aroma of perfume-y hops, and malt suggestions of caramel and cookie dough. Simple. The flavor is mild as well. Starts with a resiny, metallic hop character. There’s light orange hints in the background, along with some toasty, grainy, light caramel malt. The finish is resiny and peppery. Seems vacant, with subdued hops. One-dimensional, nothing great. kimcgolf (822), Dacula, Georgia, USA Sep 22, 2007 Poured from the bottle to a light orange color with decent carbonation and a thick white head that lingered well and left good lacing on the glass. From the minute I opened the botel, I could detect the hoppy citrus fruit (grapefruit and oranges) aroma, and the mouthfeel was slightly spicy and tingly. Flavor did not disappoint, as it was a nice continuation of the citrus hops, but there was also a touch of malty sweet caramel.
This all led to a very well rounded finish, as the dry, hoppy bitterness clashed with the malty sweetness, as well aas the 7.6% alcohol creeping in, which actually became warming.
Lagunitaqs left no stone unturned with this one...another hit!v FLnative80 (174), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2007 Bottle. 12 fl. oz. A cloudy, amber color with thick, white head. Aromas of orange citrus and caramel malt. Medium body with a soft texture. Flavor is sweet caramel with hoppy bitterness and a very interesting, cream finish. A little too sweet for me, but still pretty good. gripweed57 (19), Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA Sep 19, 2007 Hazy amber orange color. Fluffy beige head. citrusy grapefruit malt nose. Bittersweet malt flavor goes down smoothly. A spicey hop finish balances this ale nicely. Very drinkable. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Sep 15, 2007 Aroma is not strong but has a hoppy nip to it. Color is a transparent golden amber, typical for this kind of beer, with a fairly thick white head that does persist some. Flavor is strong and hoppy with some malty undertone and a fair amount of bitterness. An average and enjoyable ale. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 15, 2007 Bottle. High fluffy but lasting white head. Hazt amber body. Fruity aroma of apples pears and honey plus barley malt in the background. In spite of the fruity aroma the hops bitterness is quite dominant in the flavor. Low carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste.
