sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 13, 2007 12oz bottle purchased from Bauer Wines in Boston. Pours a hazy gold with medium head. Mild hoppy aroma. The flavour is very nicely hoppy. No complaints about this one. But what makes this beer (or any beer, mind you) a cream ale? I suppose it’s a little bit different from an IPA, but not much. Rated as an IPA, it’s quite nice.
mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear, bright copper body with a large frothy off-white head. Floral aroma consisting of spice, bread, some caramel, and light orange and apricot. Malty body with flavours of caramel and bread...there’s quite a bit of abrasive alcohol heft present too. It’s hard to get past that, actually. But for a short period there is some citrus rind flavour. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 9, 2007 Delicious beer for my number 700. Aroma was kind of weak. Could pick up caramel/malt but faintly. Pour was a nice hazy burnt orange with a one finger off white head. Taste was nice and semi sweet. Caramel, malt and creamy sugar balanced with a bit of hops and an alcohol burn. Some orange in the aftertaste. Nice and different. chef201atc (249), Weatherford, Texas, USA Sep 8, 2007 Clear golden colored pour with a slight head. Nice hoppy nose. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Flavor is not as hoppy as the nose suggest. Small amount of caramel sweetness. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 6, 2007 Bottle. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Amber color. Very citrus like aroma, maybe from Amarillo? Almost pineapple like, sweet grapefruit. But where is the 7,6%? Not very creamy like as well. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light balanced sweet and bitter flavor. Light citrus like sweet and somewhat dry finish. Very drinkable, but I expected a bit more from this beer. TechMyst (166), Fox River Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 5, 2007 Very filling. Like a hopped up maibock. spicy/herbal/citrus notes throughout. Didn’t catch the creamy part though. Good, not Great. Theis (3617), Denmark Sep 4, 2007 Bottle at home - before a Ølsymposium at NB. Clear dark amber - white head. Aroma: Cactus, caramel, brown sugar, medium hoppy. Taste: Caramel, malty sweetness, cactus, grass, brown sugar, syrup, medium to high sweetness, medium hoppy. OK - but too sweet for me !! jonnabrix (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2007 Creamy, malty sweet, with some spice. Not as strong a hop presence, or as bold or complex a flavor as I expected, but an enjoyable brew.
