We brewed this Special High Gravity Cream Ale in serious celebration of the return of the salubrious Spring... With the long dark days of the Season of Damp nearly behind us and the possibilities of a long languid Summer ahead.

New to Tampa. Pours very nice with a lusterless honey colored body supporting a two finger thick white head that is mostly lasting. Fruity/hoppy aroma is a mix of white fruits and citrus with a whiff of pine resin. The fore is very fruity with almost tropical notes and gobs of citrus. You can feel the hop oils wrapping around your tongue. There is a bit of caramel malt in there too and the finish is warm with alcohol and a mix of hop and alcohol bitterness.

Reddish copper color with a persistent 2 fingered tight white head. Sweet tropical fruits and wildflower honey aroma at first but the pine becomes the primary portion of the aroma after a minute or so. The thin mouthfeel at first is the first thing noticeable, though a second later the mouthfeel is surprisingly full. Light caramel malt up from with a bit of sweetness before the bitterness finishes the beer. The lingering flavor is earthy, alcoholic, and mildly to moderatelty bitter

This is really nice. An excellent floral hop aroma and flavor. Smooth and with a light biting finish. Quite nice and drinkable.

Thanks to KAggie97 for giving me two of the six. Golden color with creamy looking head. Nose of hops, citrus and some piney resin. Sweet creamy mouth feel that really coats the tongue. Nice hop flavor near the finish. Really didn’t know what to expect...but I’m glad I have another one.

(bottle): Pours a big creamy head, big bubbles, lasting. Golden amber color, clear. Very hoppy aroma, very bitter. Sweet aroma. Sweet taste, some bitter taste, somewhat clean aftertaste. Balanced, but llght taste, not very creamy, more an IPA.

vanilla and burbon oaked and presented for the discriminating taste! heavier malt than hop balance serves litttle to detract from a very good brew. creamy sweet and tingly from hops (rather than screaming) this beer is a winner for hop heads and malt freaks alike. heavier on the alcohol (in this case) makes the cold days warmer and the warm days better to regress over. creamy and...this beer is soulful.

I applaud Lagunitas for trying its hand at a difficult style. While I think they didn’t quite hit the mark style wise, they did create a tasty beer. Golden yellow and topped with a mid-sized white head, dripping with lacing, the nose tells most of the story. Muted resiny hop aromas mesh with a sweet karo syrup smell. The beer is lightly sweet but well balanced with an hoppy bitterness riding the crest of the malt. The beer sports a nice soft mouthfeel and a light body considering its ample alcohol content. Nicely done!

12 oz. bottle - clear gold with slight white head; mild citrus aromas with pleasant, if basic, flavors that is very easy to drink
