Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 18, 2007 A nice pouring beer, it is the color of slightly dark honey with a nice soapy orange tan head. Aroma is very much hop dominated but some malt is underneath. Plenty of carbonation bubbles up. The flavor mirrors the aroma as the first taste has a big hop bite with some subtle maltiness and a hint of floral tastes. This is a big bold beer that comes right at you. A pine bitterness is left as an aftertaste. A very nice big hopped beer. Exceptionally well done. dyetube (397), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 16, 2007 This beer pours a rich amber with a large off white head leaving good lacing down the sides. Hmmmm. The flavors in this thing are good but not as good as you’d expect from an am. strong ale. If you ask me it is a little weak for an asa. But there are plenty of good hops to offset the maltiness of this thing. That adds a nice touch to this beer. It’s almost like a souped up ipa. I’ll prob. buy some more. Cheers! robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Jul 16, 2007 Amber Color with Sandy Off White Head. Sweet and Dry Malty Aroma. Medium Bodied. Nice Carbonation. Grainy Sweet and Dry Malted Flavor..Some Burnt Caramel Notes...Light Dry Hop Aftertaste. Almost a Sudsy Mouthfeel. A Drinkable but Not Memorable ASA troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Jul 16, 2007 (Tap) Pours a amber color with some light haze and an average white head. A good hoppy kick resonates throughout this beer, without being too overwhelming. Some biscuity malts and light caramel notes add some balance. Average mouthfeel, with some pronounced alcohol warming towards the end. Not much like a cream ale, but what the heck. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jul 15, 2007 Bottle: Dark golden pour with a modest, creamy white head. Thick lacing. Aroma of hoppy sweetness, mostly citrus and pine. The flavor is more floral in hops with a little pine and overall a dry bitters sensation. steview (901), Los Angeles, California, USA Jul 14, 2007 amber body; thick white ring around the glass; smooth, malty, and a bit of an ass-kicker; good hops, good malts; just a liquored-up cream ale! KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 14, 2007 12 oz. bottle purchased from Green’s. Nice floral hoppy aroma. Beautiful amber color with a small white head that diminishes rather quickly. Initial taste is rather sweet, but leads to a lightly bitter finish. Very light, creamy body with little carbonation. As mentioned earlier, this is a easy drinking beer for the summertime. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jul 13, 2007 12 oz bottle-pours a big foamy to rocky light tan head and gold color. Aroma is nice citrus-lemon/tangerine hops, secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is nice citrus –lemon/tangerine west coast hops-some bitter, secondary medium malt-caramel with some mild cream (soda). A bit syrupy in line with the high gravity. Easy drinking, smooth, dry finish. Mild carbonation.
