Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 11, 2006 I was expecting a creamy ale but also got a pale ale with it. Creamy head, C hop aroma, medium yellow straw gold colour. Sourish, with sweetness secondary, whether intended or not. So I am of two minds on mouthfeel, creamy and pucker lemon is an inigma. Picked up days ago from Dayton Ohio.
Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA Nov 6, 2006 Light copper color with a beige head. Weak caramel malt aroma. Flavor of caramel malt and hoppy bitterness. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 5, 2006 12oz Bottle. Clear light copper color with thin white head. Light aroma of malts and hops. Too mellow to pick up which type. Nice mild flavor of caramel malts and sweet lightly roasted malts. It is indeed a bit creamy with just a little piney hop bitterness about midway to the finish. I guess for a cream ale this 7.6% ABV is hi gravity. It isn’t really noticeable. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 31, 2006 12oz bottle. Aroma: Honey, grapes, piney hops, Light malt and bread, and a strong floral aroma. Appearance: Orange/amber in color and fairly clear. White head was full and rocky with decent retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Light malt flavor with a honey-like sweetness. Getting a light corn flavor, as well. Refreshing pine and floral hop. Some green apple and light citrus. Well balanced. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carboantion. Overall: Good beer. Flavors work well together and it finishes with a nice hop flavor. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 29, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear coppery-golden pour with a medium cap of creamy white head. Buttery nose with pine tar, alcohol, and sweet citrus behind it... odd.. didn’t know what to think of it. Buttery, rum-soaked caramel and citrus were the driving forces behind the flavor along with complimentary pine bitterness. Smooth on the palate with a nice transition to pine bitterness and mild alcohol bite at the back end and through the finish. Enjoyed this more and more as it went down. KAME (156), California, USA Oct 23, 2006 Bottle. Pours a light orange with a small withe heat. Aroma is creamy, citrusy, sweet and malty. Flavor is light caramel with a sharp hoppy bitterness. Alcohol is non-existent. Overall it’s an easy to drink brew, and very good for the price. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Oct 22, 2006 served at NYC Brewtopiafest. pours a clear amber-gold body with a small white head. very subtle aroma. tastes of sweet, creamy malts in a full mouthfeel. sweet citrus fruits and light hops. wheat, bready yeast. crisp and refreshing. really very good. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2006 brewtopia 10/21/06, Aroma was very hoppy for a cream ale, so was the taste. Some malt and bread in the flavor...lightly bitter hop finish.
