Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Sep 8, 2006 Pours with a deep golden body topped by a thick, lasting head with some lacing. It’s slighlty sweet and citrusy with a touch of spice (Oregano, Basil). Medium bodied, smooth and a touch dry. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA Sep 6, 2006 Pours gold-amber, small lacing head, aroma is sweet fruity malty, light hop aroma. Interesting complex malt character is toasty and candy sweet, lots of fruit undertones. Residual sweetness does not detract from overall experience, mouthfeel is satisfying, finish is somewhat bitter and acidic but quite pleasant, although there is something that makes me think some honey was added in the boil. Nice beer, adventerous which is not unexpected from this brewery. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Sep 6, 2006 Bottle. Pour is orangish/yellow--almost like urine after a good night of drinking. Aroma is sweet, but not overly so. I guess i expected more of a creamy flavor and palate, but this brew in nicely balanced with hops and malt. A little bitter fruity aftertaste makes this quite quaffable. Much better than i expected. Wish i still had access to Lagunitas. Saarlander (1577), Saarlouis, Germany Aug 29, 2006 A nice drinker, creamy palate, caramel, with plenty of hops, typical of Lagunitas,Citrus aftertaste, be careful, alcohol is well hidden and will creep up fast on you! Good brew. Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2006 eh, this was an okay brew, sweet aroma, kinda sweet/citrus flavor to it, for some reason i find this hard to drink though. roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 26, 2006 Pours a vibrant hazy orange with a nice froathy amount of bubbly white head. Aroma is hoppy grapefruit, some caramel malts. Flavor is very creamy and sweet, sugared grapefruit and sweet peach, and bitter hop finish. Overall, very good. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Aug 25, 2006 Draft at the Barking Dog. Pours brilliant roasted orange with thin streams of carb and rohrshach swirls for a head. Rich, fruity, floral hop nose--insanely layered with peppery- and other contrasts. Thick, creamy body asserts itself right from the attack. Bold, piney, resinous hop finish after a thick chewy malt mid-palate. This is a lot of beer per ounce. As a reluctant drinker of cream ales, I have to say that for me this one’s lapping the rest of the field without breaking a sweat. Maybe because it doesn’t completely hijack the character of the beer. Great stuff. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Aug 24, 2006 in bottle. smells like lavendar bath salts. Copious white fluffy head, rich golden color. Up-front milky creaminess which turns into residual tongue bitterness. it’s like they toasted the hops somehow. a huge amount of mild hops. Some butteriness, some lacing. heat returns when swirled. an attractive beer. better body than mass-produced ales. exellent cream aled.
