Commercial Description:
We brewed this Special High Gravity Cream Ale in serious celebration of the return of the salubrious Spring... With the long dark days of the Season of Damp nearly behind us and the possibilities of a long languid Summer ahead.

Bottle. Snagged out of beerswap thanks to whomever!! Aroma nice and hoppy with a subdued malt lingering beneath. Poured a nice amberish with a creamy head. Flavor was tasty, creamy and hoppy, citric and caramel. Palate was nice finish rather clean. Overall I was diggin on this.

Hazy orange with a frothy to creamy off white head, mostly lasting with some lacing. Toasty malt cookie aroma, with some almond and a bit of orange. Almost like a toasted almond ice cream bar. Big hoppy presence on the first sip, but mellowed out into a buttery and slightly sweet malt flavor with a bit of creaminess in the palate. Enjoyed it a lot.

I liked this one, more of a small barleywine, like a scaled down Bigfoot. Has the looks, golden-bronze though a bit hazy. Frothy. Big on western hops with a bitter bite. Lacks some of the mouthfeel of a Cream Ale probably due to the hop bitterness. Fizzy on the tongue.

If there was a ’big’ session beer, this is it. It pours a hazy golden color and doesn’t have much nose. The flavor starts out slightly sweet and finishes with some dryness. Very quaffable, yet deceptive in its ABV.

Orangey hoppy aroma. LIght copper color with a respectable head. Starts with a creamy malt taste, some orange slips by, finishes lightly tart with some hoppy bitterness. Really quite nice. Maybe something of a grapefruit note persists - it’s that sort of bitterness at the end.

CFlear gold, thin off white head. Nose is tea, orange, toasty malt, rass. Flavor is sweet light toffee quickly followed w. a strongly bitter mix of tea and orange. This bitterness is not overwhelming. Nice creamy body.

12oz bottle. Purchased at Bev Mo in Mission Valley San Diego. Drank up in Irvine on 8/14/06. Pours Pale w/ a large foamy head. It is hoppy creamy and Ipaish. It is tasty and interesting. Could be creamer but good. Another good brew from the folks at Lagunitas.
