weeare138 (933), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2006 Appears a golden amber with a fluffy beige head that slowly fades out. Scattered spots of lace are left around the glass. Tons of yeasty sediment is suspended from top to bottom in this brew...not the first time it’s happened with a bottle from these guys. What’s that about? I have to reduce for the somewhat grotesque floaties in there but other than that, it would look ok.
Smell is of sugary fried dough that you would get at an Italian feast during the Summer.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas and a fine analogy if I say so myself. There are some citrusy hops easing out the flavor and perhaps a slight nuttiness, as well.
Mouthfeel is sweet, salty, and hot with alcohol present. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 21, 2006 Bottle: copper/orange color, with a small off white head. Aroma, some clean and crisp citrus, with some carmel malt and spice in the back ground. Flavor, fruity, spicy hops, a little peppery, some alcohol, and a bit sweet. Pretty solid stuff. lamas (709), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA Jul 19, 2006 Bottle. Pours a light rusty color with a small off-white head. The aroma features some fruity hops and sweet malts with a hint of alcohol. Medium-bodied and fairly crisp until the sticky end. Well-rounded and sweet all the way through. Caramel and breadiness at the start. Some warming alcohol and brown sugar at the end. Peppery. Not too shabby. lukin013 (211), Columbia, Maryland, USA Jul 16, 2006 Updated: Jan 6, 2007Surprisingly refreshing beer. Pours a clear amber color with a creamy off-white head. Loved the fruity and hoppy aroma... apricot, orange, raspberry. Tastes a bit like an IPA but a little less bitter and a little more sweet. Really hitting the spot on a hot, muggy July night. A light copper colored brew with a strong head. This cream ale was good. Had some Belgian qualities to it. Had a good presences of fruitiness and the easy to drink was a welcome drink on a hot day. Liked the unfiltered part of this brew and the finish was very good.
awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA Jul 14, 2006 From 12oz Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy color of honey coated tangerines, topped with a creamy finger of white head. Swirling my snifter glass sends shock waves of shimmering fizz rippling through the body. Aromas of orange zest hops, green fluff jello, and some coppery malts. Light to medium bodied mouthfeel thats a touch light on carbonation. Slightly bitter hop flavors of pine resin with a squeeze of orange juice and spring salad mixed greens. Final smack of white pepper spice. Not bad overall, but also not one of my favorite Lagunitas brews. HopheadHans (753), Bay Area, California, USA Jul 14, 2006 Tap at Toronado. This seems to be a mixture of a pale ale and a lager. Pronounced notes of hops combined with a fairly light body. In addition some
strange flavors that remind me of orange peel and chocolate. It pours golden with a nice head. Not Lagunitas best offering. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA Jul 14, 2006 Excellent. Pours amber with a gooey white head. Aroma is citrusy hops and sweetness. Flavor is amazing, hoppy and sweet, with a bit of alcohol, but nothing is too strong, very yin yang beer.
