| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Bottle pours a clear, orange-yellow color with a thin off-white head. Good lacing along the glass. The aroma is mostly piney hops and caramel malt. The flavor is and interesting mixture of pineapple and grapefruit with a definite hop presence. The bitter aftertaste also includes undertones that remind me of honey-lemon cough drops, in a good way. A tasty offering from Lagunitas. jb (1034), Rochester, New York, USA

An autumn - colored ale, very filtered, orange - yellow. Thick white head. Very rich malty aroma, with whiffs of pine present. Creamy palate, very carbonate, ticklish on the tongue, melts into a dry hop-filled finish. Caramel also present in the palate. I liked it.
7/10 aroma, 3/5 appearance, palate 6.5/10 overall 3.4-3.5

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Tried this at Tyler’s Taproom - smelled of Lagunitas signature grapefruit and hops. Nice amber coloring. Tasted like a slightly stronger version of their IPA which is not such a bad thing. I could drink a few of these. zach8270 (2079), Henrietta, New York, USA

Aroma is very light but slightly sweet and a little bit hoppy. Some floral and citrus notes. Flavor is sweet at the beginning with a surprisingly floral and hoppy taste following it up. Finishes with a crisp flavor of flowers, hops, apples, and alcohol. Bitterness lingers on the tongue. Radek Kliber (3942), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

Appearance: Clear amber base with large creamy crown.3+ Nose: Fragrant, pleasant soft scent of alpha hops, clean, refreshing aura wrapped in sweet candy charcter.8+ Flavor/Palate : Medium full bodied. Bittering hops from first sip. They are clean and to the point as in aroma. This bitter ale has some kind of hop-malt balance despite its hop bite. Very drinkable American bitter with solid malt fundaments.
