An excellent floral hop aroma and flavor. Smooth and with a light biting finish. Quite nice and drinkable. kidmartinek (707), austin, Texas, USA Jun 27, 2008 Clear copper, moderate bubbling, 3/4" off-white head. Mild malt and hop aroma with a citrus head and hoppy nose. Silky smooth sipping, malt and semi-sweet hops and barley. Almost too enjoyable. Lagunitas hits the mark again, just like the lucky 13. This is a seriously great beer. It should be applied generously to your most fun-loving occasions. You’ll be back for this one. Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA May 30, 2007 Updated: May 31, 2007light clear copper body with a thick lacing nicotine stain looking head. this is a sixpack i’m glad i bought. it’s gonna be a good night. i am thinking nugget when i smell this, incredible lemon fried pie nose with a cool cut grass scent. hints at some sweetness. a nice aroma to put it lightly. they are trying to call this a high grav cream ale, i’m thinking west coast amber. the hops are amazingly bold, but work with the malt perfectly. the alcohol is a bit too abrasive though, along with a sulphur note after the 2nd. grass and lemon custard finish that is a pleasure. the custard/pie flavor is great throughout this. rich velvety sweet pudding flavor that i love. i’m going to drink so much of this in the next month or two. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 25, 2005 12 oz bottle courtesy of Irishsnake. High-gravity cream ale, wtf? Anything for marketing originality I guess. Well this pours a clear apple-juice amber with a bit of bubble action and a smallish lasting off-white head...lots of fuit in the nose, a complex medley of cherries, blueberries, apricots; some nice caramel malt underneath, earthy-spicy pungency, this nose is really quite amazing I could smell it until the beer is undrinkably warm....mmm, the flavor holds up, creamy and juicy with poached spiced pears subtly affecting the predominant malty, full body...light floral character underpinnings and supple, well-integrated late herbal hop character generates a truly remarkable American pale, effortlessly quaffable with no hints of the alcohol. This could be a regular everyday beverage for me if I could get it in Vermont...wow what a pleasant surprise.
