Hazy bright golden with a creamy white head. An aroma of sour fruit and flowers that can only be described as beautiful. Tangy orange and apricot followed by green apple and finishing with a long floral taste.

A: The pour is a hazy straw color with an initially fluffy white head that slowly dies down to a thin layer. S: An amazingly funky and tart aroma is present immediately. Lots of sour apples, lemons, and maybe some green grapes along with a subtle wood character and a bit of grass. T: The tartness is bright and green, lots of lemons and apples. The oak, grass, wet straw, and mild earthiness give this beer a great funky balance to the sourness. M: The body is somewhat light and crisp, with a great level of effervescence and slight dryness. D: This is an absolutely fantastic beer. I would drink this like nobody’s business if it was more readily available and/or Lagunitas wasn’t such a drive.

On tap at Stone 14th Anniversary - Predominant chardonnay and farmhouse aroma. The taste reveals one of the lighter saisons I have ever had (surprising for a blend), but not as sour as I would like. Some slight citrus. Still a nice beer that is very refreshing on a 90-degree day such as the one I tasted it on.

Tap at Redlight or Sourfest. Dark gold pour, very clear with a thick white head. Musty earthy hop aroma with a hint of sour tart lemon. Smooth crisp malt with a nice earthy hop bite in the taste. With a little warming, resiny citrus hops and lemon tartness start to poke through in the flavor as well. Damn good brew.

On draft at Stone 14th Anniversary. Poured a cloudy yellow with white head. Aroma was white wine, some funk sourness and oak barrels. Taste was nice sour sharpness, yet refreshingly easy to drink. Reminded me of a berlinerwiess with more tart sharpness.

Deep amber color. Head faded pretty quick. Nice lacing. Slight sour aroma. Medium bodied. Taste has a slight sourness. Really well balanced though. The huge malts add the much needed sweetness to keep this from being too sour.

Poured from tap into a tulip. Pours a nice dark orange/gold color with a very frothy head. Very good aromas of spices, funk, navel oranges and a good amount of citrus notes as well. Good depth, not as funky as I would expect given its called a gueuze. Medium bodies with a nice feel, but lacking on the mid a slight bit. It does have a very nice dry finish to it with a lot of flavors of spice, citrus, and funky notes. It’s not really a gueuze. It’s the little sumpin wild aged in wine barrels. As a gueuze it doesn’t fully hit, but it is a very good wild ale.

On tap at the Bistro BA festival. Labeled "Blend Saison"; 75% chardonnay and 25% pinot saison blend. Pours hazy orange with very little head. Lite sour/funk aroma. Mild barnyad flavor with oak notes. Excellent.

redlight (2289) - Winter Park, Florida, USA - MAY 29, 2011
on tap @ redlight redlight for Sourfest. Funky hoppy nose with vinous notes. Pours golden blonde with a thick white head. Slightly tart up front with light fruit notes with some citrusy hops and oaky vanilla. Man this is pretty good. This is exactly what I would imagine a Lagunitas wild beer to be like, funky but still have the hops.

On tap at Beer Revolution. A very nice treat! Pours with a lightly hazed golden hued body with a tight, just off-white head with decent retention. Aromas of funk, lactic acid bacteria (pedio), white wine, suntan lotion, oak, tannin, brett and wet leaves. Flavors of funk, lactic, a bit metallic, white wine and soft notes that come with aging. Melange of white and red wine flavor notes. Tannins and brett. Iron. Leaves. Temporary hardness. Dry and earthy. Lively, well attenuated, good carbonation. Complex and tasty.
