| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 6, 2009 I’ve had this on tap and in the bottle. Keg was much better. Love the juicy hops in the aroma and the taste. A nice compromise on the ABV. In fact, it’s quite perfect in this regard as the lower abv allows it to be less sweet. I had no idea it was an "imperial" the first time I had it. Nalu (32), Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Super aroma of pine and fruit blossom. Pours clear golden orange with a short off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a coarse lace. Nicely balanced with grapefruit, orange resinous flavors. Bitter finish, good body. redave (133), squaw valley, California, USA

Good bitterness, good balance wish i could get this more often.
Lagunitas provides a great line a beers and this is at the top.
I love the big beers and this is one of them. The aroma isn’t always there, but maybe I’m not always getting the fresh batch.
Fresno is NOT that far away from Lagunitas, and I’m a little upset that we don’t get the full line of all their beers, but thats another story...
I do love this beer, but it isn’t perfect, but it’s dang good! TheGB (41), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
