Poured from 22oz bomber. Nice heavy, piney/hoppy aroma. Clear copper/orange body with very thin head. Taste screams west-coast DIPA but is extremely well balanced among hops, malt, sweetness, and aromatic characteristics. Excellent mouthfeel. This one has moved onto my personal "Top 5" list of DIPAs... maybe even the Top 3 if I get a chance to taste it on tap.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2010 Its aroma is so sweetly hoppy that I can easily smell it sitting feet away from me - and my nose isnít that great. Poured a clear, light amber-orange color and formed an thick, frothy off-white head. Great lacing. Its aroma floral and hoppy, fresh, with light spruce/pine needles. Mmmm... smells like the beer was taken right off the hop vine. For 100+ IBU itís quite easy to drink. Nothing overly bitter, but has a great flavor. I imagine itís not easy cramming 100+ IBUs into a beer and making it this easy to drink. Kudos to Lagunitas, my heroes...

Iíve been waiting to try this one on tap before writing a review. Thanks to Redlight Redlight (Orlando), that time has come!! The huge, fresh aroma consists of mostly grapefruit citrus with minor pine and floral tones . It has a clear copper to amber appearance with minimal white head. I love the sticky intricate lacing it leaves on my glass. The taste is similar to the awesome aroma and the bitterness is balanced with a nice sharp sweetness that lingers on the back of your tongue with an oily, resinous texture. Thereís really no alcohol burn and I find this beer highly drinkable as I keep sipping to try to wash down that sweet, oily taste/feeling in the back of my throat. The ABV is at the top of my preferred range and after two pints I feel great. The first time I had this beer it became an instant favorite and as I continue to try other IPAs and DIPAs, I am always disappointed they donít taste more like this.

22 oz bottle. Very grassy and citrusy aroma. Irresistable blend of sweet and bitter fruit flavors; one of the best DIPAs out there. A must-try.

Aroma is pure pine hops. Somewhat earthy on the pour. Body is a clear dark orange with a really thin coating of carbonated head that leaves quickly with no lacing. Taste is almost a sweet candy bitter. Really nice palate.

Draft at Taphouse. fantastic hop aroma with an incredible fruity hop flavor. Perfect balance of sweet and bitter. Canít believe the ABV on this one. Incredibly drinkable and definitely one of the best IPAís Iíve had.

Friggin love this one. Huge hop aroma and flavors. The pineapple/ grapefruit combo is top notch. An absolute hop-bomb that really goes down nice and easy. Hangs with the best of the best in my mind when it comes to IIPAís. So juicy and tasty. One of the best.

Style; glass: DIPA; Tulip 22 fl oz x 8% ABV = 176 / 60 = 2.93 beers * 150 C = 439.5 calories (est.) Purchased at: Super Saver Pennington, NJ for $4.49 Aroma: hay, orange peel, pineapple, pine trees, salt. Visuals: intriguing packaging, looks like top shelf whiskey, deep amber, brilliantly clear, off white head, intricate thin lace. Taste: well balanced, light sweetness throughout, citrus rind tones continuously present, strength balanced with sensibility. Palate: dry, towel, long bitter finish with sweetness lying underneath. Overall: A very well balanced DIPA. A definite repeat. A sure favorite. At $5 a bomber, an amazing value.
