ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 13, 2009 Pours a light amber color with a medium sized beige colored head. Nose is popcorn balls (made with dark corn syrup), rubber, vinyl, wet grass, and nutshell. Taste is sour blueberries, pine, cotton balls, brown sugar, and tangerine. Mouthfeel Is slightly sticky, somewhat bubbly, but smooth and drinkable. Finish is medium length. 13mikey (117), New Hope, Minnesota, USA Aug 13, 2009 Deep golden color, wonderful fruit & floral hops aroma. Thick and sweet mouthfeel with a bitter citrus flavor. Lingering bitter finish on the tongue. A little bit harsh on the finish but overall a great beer. Kevin (1917), Colorado, USA Aug 12, 2009 clear straw yellow with a white head. very sweet nose that smells of citrus, vanilla. how much crystal malt is in this thing if it is this hoppy? the sweetness is intense, blueberry, lemon, sweetcornbread, pineapple, and a flavor that reminds me of a dry hopped amber with nugget i had the other night. orange flavor lingers in the finish. not really what i was wanting, drinkable and still enjoyable.
4 5 6 3 14 Maddog (231), Kettering, Ohio, USA Aug 11, 2009 A fine double IPA, but not in the upper echelon. The pour was a clear light amber and the aroma was very nice fruity/citrusy hops. This beer is well balanced for a double IPA with a nice malt body that became very citrusy in its hops. Not overly big nor overly hopped up, but Hop Stoopid was a delicious, easy drinking beer. abcfan (244), New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2009 Very good brew. Pours orange with white head. Outstanding citrus aroma. Flavor is sweet, full of caramel tones. Slightly bitter, yet sweet finish. Would drink again! greig (169), Hamilton, New Zealand Aug 10, 2009 This beer has travelled a long way to get to Hamilton, New Zealand. It shows a bit, but there’s still an excellent beer here. For a start, it’s freaking beautiful in the glass. Glowing amber/orange, with a fluffy white head. The aroma exuding from the head is a lovely mix of grapefruit and oranges. The flavour is a little sickly sweet, and this is where I think the age and distance is showing a bit. Under the sweetness is a really nice mix of marmalade, toffee, and citrus. There’s a biting bitterness which builds up over the course of a pint. Great beer, can’t wait to try it fresh on tap in the US. brewski519 (395), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA Aug 9, 2009 22oz bottle - pourse a an amber color wtih plenty of foamy white head. Intense grapefruit aroma along with hops, malt, caramel and flowers. Taste of grapefruit, orange, hops and malt. This beer certainly comes with the trademark Lagunitas grapefruit and hops kick. Solid Imperial IPA - glad I was able to track this brew down. Next time I will buy a few of them. altabessie (5), Lisle, Illinois, USA does not count Aug 6, 2009 For a 100 plus IBU beer it was well balanced. Hoppy but not over the top like I thought it would be. good stuff
