22oz bottle, 7.7%abv. Dark gold with a thick white head. Floral and citrus hop aroma. Grapefruit and light pine hop flavors with medium bitterness and medium-sweet pale malt flavors. Medium bodied, and on the light side for style. Frankly, not really nearly as hoppy or bitter as I has expecting, still a bit better that Maximus, but not a great improvement for a year-round IIPA. Iíll definitely have to pick up another bottle at 3.99 though.

Bottle. Pours an amber color, very clear, with a medium white head. Aromas of grapefruit and spruce hops. Lively palate that starts smooth and ends sticky with a brutal bitter finish. Tastes of hops and more hops, which to me is heaven. Wonderful beer and actually drinks a lot less than the alcohol content.

Bottle. Poured an orange-red with a slight tan head. Aroma is big, piney, and resinous. Very nice hop flavor bite with such a big malt profile that it actually is not harsh at all. Tongue coating finish. NICE.

20090320 Bomber from Spirits RB. Brassy golden color with small, tight white head that laces in thin rings. Aroma is mostly grapefruity hops with a bit of lemongrass, basil, and pine. Medium bodied but coating and fluffy with nice eff. Bitter from front to back and lingering with a great floral perfumed and pithy bite that lasts. Flavor adds some very light shortbread malts, more like a very juicy and sweet pink grapefruit. Dangerously quaffable and at five bucks a bomber it could easily make for a bit of trouble. Lagunitas has a few dogs in the lineup but beers like this plus their affordable price range make these worth the risk, no questions asked, if a new one shows up on the shelves.

1 Pint 6 Oz bottle pours a crystal clear light copper with a big sustaining head and decent lace. The aroma is pine resin, grapefruit, and some malt. The flavor is quite hop forward, with some underlying sweetness. The palate is lively and significant. Overall, this is quite good.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2009 bomber from Grape & Gourmet. pours a perfectly clear, golden copper, with a thin, bubbly, white head and solid lacing. aroma is simply amazing. big, piney, resinous hops, sweet grapefruit, pineapple, apricot and peach, with a touch of unique spicy/peppery and floral notes. flavor is fantastic as well. amazingly fresh, citrus, and piney hops dominate with sweeter fruit notes of peach, pear, and honeydew peaking through. sweet, slightly bready caramel malts add excellent balance. palate is extremely smooth with great bitterness and barely a hint of alcohol. overall, and oustanding DIPA and one hell of a deal at $4.99 a bomber.

Super hoppy aroma with strong spicy yeasts. Clear orange color with a medium white head. Hop flavor throughout sweet in the beginning and pretty bitter in the finish. Iím impressed with the quality of the hop extract but I think its missing something in the bitterness. The mix of an IPA and a farmhouse is amazing.

Bomber. Pour is light amber with small lacy white head. Aromas of piney hops, citrus, and some caramel. Flavor is very fruity with pear, melon, citrus, pine resin, and the finish is smooth. No alcohol present at all and damn what a nice brew.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2009 Clear dark amber with a very large three finger off white head. Very good amount of lacings. Aroma is big piney resinous hops. Taste is dark leathery citrus grapefruit orange hops with a very substantial sweet rich malts. Mouthfeel is excellent and it is an easy drinker in spite of the 7.7% (on the label) abv. Exceptional beer. One of my new favorites in this style. Buy it quick before the word gets out about this delicious beer.

Extreme hop pungency highlights every aspect of this beer, from aroma, flavor and palate right down to the appearance. Many hops died in the production of this monster, but as some evils go, it was necessary to break a few eggs to make this omelet. Extra kudos due to the brewer for its homage to a great classic rock band on its label blurb. Pungency was not my thing at the time of rating, so I may have underrated it. If hop-pungency and drying bitterness is right up your alley, you will be pleased.
