Sonoma Farmhouse eh? The Sonoma is found in the clear burnished brass of the beers hue and sheer brightness of fresh humulus aromas leaping out of the glass. Farmhouse speaks in a light voice of earthy spice, although the hop extraction method is more akin a Sonoma Valley lab. Hop Stoopid? Well put. Fresh, sweet grapefruit juice abounds, from the nose to the mouth. Hop bitterness is not on the stage here, no astringency or green bite. A very plush and polished mouthfeel give the Cascades a slip and slide to personify their namesake. I wouldn’t say that the beer in singular, rather one solid vision that begins and finishes flawlessly and provides ultimate hop refreshment. Well done and very well priced.

bottle: Poured orange with medium diminishing head. Smells very citrusy with a small piney note. Flavor was slighty sweet with a very bitter end, but smooth. Strong grapefruit flavor and a lingering taste with the bitterness. I liked this very much, well balanced and very flavorful

Solid orange colour, with a very surprising clarity for an Imperial IPA. A very very slight green hue to the beer as well. Huge hops right off the nose, clearly in the Cascade/Centennial/Stryrian Goldings family, with loads of lemon, grapefruit, spruce, and pine. The palate is wonderfully well-balanced, and stands up to the aggressive hopping just fine. I have tasted more complex IPAs, but few that were so well balanced.

Pours a golden orange with a tan head that has green highlights. Head laces beautifully. Nose is just loads of citrus (lemon, orange, grapefruit), and pine, resin, apricot. Cascade hops up the ass! Tastes fantastic! Citrus and pine. Not overly complex but great none the less. Great palate and really good beer!

clear orange color, quickly receding off white head, some lace. strong grapefruit nose, hint of underarm...wonderous. taste is citric hops, largely grapefruity, under tones of creamy caramel and orange rind. medium bodied, citrus bitterness finish. this one is an experience for the nose, mouth and eyes (if you call you eyes rolling back in your head in stuporous pleasure an "experience"). my notes say "yum yum yum. nicely balanced." take it for what it is worth. single bottle purchase from binnys orland park.

Very very green. Hops taste super fresh. Hardly any hint of balance but that’s ok. At times a bit astringent/harsh tasting but overall a smooth drinker. Can’t beat the price either. Would love to try on draught. I think I like Maximus more though.

Poured from 22oz. Bomber into Pint glass.
Pours a crystal clear, light amber with a nice finger of white head. The aroma is straight citrus hops. Its just booming with hops and they are sticky, gooey fresh. Extremely sweet malts with a lingering citrus hop bitterness that surprisingly doesn’t stay around for too long. Its a light-medium bodied beer and its stickiness coats your mouth. Very nice beer, The aroma would make you believe that it would be more bitter than it ends up being. More of an IPA than a double IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed 5/8/2009 (Bottle):
Pours a clear amber colored body, with an average sized off-white head, diminishing. Bitter, dry, extremely hoppy, sweet citrusy aroma. Sickly sweetness. Enticing. Hoppy taste, sweet. Some citrus. Not too bitter or caustic. Almost like a pale ale.

On draft at Teresa’s. Poured hazy orange in a snifter with fantastic lacing. Nice complex citrus flavor: orange, grapefruit, and some peach. Had a piney, resiny quality to it as well. This is exactly how I like my IIPAs, drinkable with a crisp hoppiness. Reminded me of the Elder Pliny.

Bomber with Alaskanwarren. Copper, lacy off-white head. Knock-you-down fresh off the vine hop nose, reaches out and punches you in the nose before you can get your face up to the glass. Cold grapefruit, tom cat, intensely over-brewed green tea, brown sugar. Green resiny hop flavor, nettle, balsam, moth balls. Not at all overly bitter, just a juicy green hop party. Leans slightly toward the hop pellet character, but still a remarkably nice hop bomb.
